hi all, (Now reposted in the correct forum I hope)
Newbie here wondering if someone could help.
SO over the xmas period I left my car in my other halfs car park with the appropriate permit. I came back on Friday 13th (Typical) to find a PCN from this company.... Obviously confused I opened it and found that they have given me a ticket for £120 for having an out of date Tax Disc!? My car is taxed as always however being the xmas period I hadn't been home in December to pick it up and display the new one. My question is.. I thought it was the DVLA and the polices responsibility to penalise you for any road tax qualms? Not some random company..? Can they do this? Should i get in contact with them or ignore it? Will they actually be able to obtain my details from the DVLA?
Thanks in advance for any help given... its really appreciated.

Police or council parking attendants can give you a ticket for failing to display your road fund license. PPCs can't!
Shoal are another of the sharks preying on motorists who don't realise what rights they have.
I would ignore0 -
Some housing associations and private landlords do have a clause in their T&Cs about not leaving untaxed cars on their property. How they can enforce that rule using a PPC is another matter. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Should I even get in contact with them and tell them where to go or just ignore their letters? Can they even obtain my details from the DVLA as stated on their ticket?0

Agreed! Shoal = cowboys.
Just Google them, privateparkingnightmare, and you will see what they are like. They never do Court and would never win in a million years - but you will no doubt get the usual threatogram letters which are shown in pictures at the top of this forum 'PPC letters & threats'. Have a look now.
Just play snap with each matching letter. Apart from that forget about it - there has been no loss to the car park owner/occupiers just because the PPC weren't able to see your tax disc (which you could prove you had obtained if it came to it - but it won't). Certainly don't write to them, it's none of their beeswax at all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ignore them and look up all the other threads here about them. This is a well known bunch of clowns.0 -
I think you have taken them far too seriously already, enough time wasted with these jokers, just ignore them, you do not have to suffer fools in life, it is optional.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. What they're trying to imply is that there is some sort of contractual agreement that you will only park a taxed vehicle there. The fact is that they can't enforce this and they're putting out phoney PCNs trying to make easy money.
Ignore further contact from them.0
