Help me change from the worst deal ever!

Options
Hi all

My last couple of bills have been £40 - £45 pounds for only 200 minutes and 10 texts! Yeeks!
Help me choose a better deal please!!!
(I pay £25/month for Orange 150 anytime (orange and landline minutes only) and no texts. I have had the contract for 7 yrs so well out of contract but never upgraded my phone or got any deals at all.)

I want the cheapest monthly bill I can get. If they chuck in a nice phone that could be nice but I like my own so not my priority.

MY USAGE
- 200 minutes/month (often only 150 but has been increasing some 225 mins)
- Call at all times of day
- Lots of cross network minutes (about 100 of the 200 were cross network)
- 15 texts/month
- Standard nokia features I use are phone! calender, reminders, calculator

WISH LIST - MUST HAVE

- Pay less than £20 a month
- 200 minutes (will go down to 150 for a great deal but 200+ would be great)
- Cheap texts but I don't use loads at the moment so not essential
- Preferably keep my number

WISH LIST - Like to have
- A slim, light elegant phone that doesn't make my pockets look bulky
(but am happy with own phone so cheaper deal or money back even better!)
- Best camera I can get without paying extra money
- Standard nokia features I use are calender, reminders, calculator

I have seen that 3 are offering good deals for £15 or £17.50 for 18 month contracts - are they any good? Is it the best deal?

And there are cashback deals that say you pay nothing in the end? Is it too good to be true?

What if I phone orange and say I want them to match the best deal on the market - how much can I push them for?

How do I keep my number?

Should I just try to use orange and another service when you enter a number first? Whats that all about?

Please help!
Thanks - Kate:beer:

  • Seen as you have been on Orange for 7 years depending what your bill average, they will make you offers to stay, I was with them for 3 years and bills were between 50-100 per month and they offered me 1000 any network mins and 200 texts and a free phone of my choice and that was for £30 a month line rental. Just call them and say your thinking of leaving as you can get cheaper somewhere else and see what they offer. You will get a new phone and if you want to keep the old phone just have a glance at phone prices on Ebay and get the biggest priced one off them, sell it and that your line rental paid for the year virtually.
