Ikea refusing to uphold guarantee...

Our Ikea furniture started falling apart as soon as 6 months. Drawers no longer sit on rails properly, bits flaking off ect.
(Although we're still not ruling out poor workmanship o our behalf on some of the problems

Well that really depends on what you'd expect the life expectancy of the furniture to be. Op mishandling nearly 7 yr old furniture doesn't really put her in a great position.0 -
I took the doors and runners off - this is how they collapsed. They were coming apart before they were moved. Seems the runners was holding them together. The roof on one just gave way. And yes, they were already empty.
Also, at the price I paid, 6 year old wardrobes should surely last the full 10 years I was led to believe they were guaranteed for.
Thanks for the assumptions though! Gave me a laugh!0 -
Well unless you can prove they had this guarantee then you really have no come back. As another poster mentioned do you still have the original invoice/receipt, as this may specify the guarantee at the time of sale, and you probably need this anyway unless you have any other proof of purchase.0

Yes I have the original receipt, and no, it says nothing about the guarantee. Ikea say in 2005 they had a 1 year guarantee - receipt says nothing about this either.
