Monday 16 January - what small DFW things will you be doing this today??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!
Good morning DFWers! :wave: hope you are all happy & well today and the week ahead is looking like a happy one! Can't believe how quickly the weekend went!
Last day at work for me :j and then I am unemployed for 6 days
OMG I cannot wait!!!
DFW things for me today:
* check banking x2 (only 4 days to go eh Karb?
)
* take £13 out of petty cash for travel to the meeting today - thank you perni!
* brekkie from stores
* lunch is a meal at an Indian restaurant - £6 set menu - with my team to say goodbye
* go collect my sewing machine - £10.50 off of Ebay for a Singer Scarlet. It is about an hour drive from me but only 12 miles away from the meeting I am going to so work are paying for my travel!
* going for a sewing lesson at my friend's and she is making me dinner :T
*relax with a glass of wine, Eastenders and a film tonight :T
* other than the sewing machine & meal not spend another penny!
Ok that's my lot

Good morning everyone
I cannot believe that it's Monday again already - I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning. Have a fantastic last day at work dnms, and well done managing to fit your picking up your singer whilst doing work stuff.
Today I have:
checked banking (still 2 weeks until payday
)
breakfast/lunch/dinner from stores
defrosted car using elbow grease rather than chemicals
washing through and on airer to dry
Only brought £2 to work so I'm not tempted to spend
I will also:
try and remember to check for surveys
check out flylady and do that as much as I can
plan meals for rest of week so I'm not tempted
get back on the diet wagon
try not to get too stressed at work
Have a good day everyoneNinja Saving Turtle0 -
Morning everyone,
Thanks Determined for the thread and Whoop Whoop to last days at work (I officially left my job on the 23rd Dec but am still there.) Enjoy your sewing machine. I have nabbed our new box room for a craft room, can't wait to get mine out of the box it has been languishing in for years!)
Today I have dropped my brother off at work (not MSE but it gets me up and motivated to do stuff other than lounge about half the morning in my PJ`s. Also ordered my chilli seeds of Evilbay last night, need to get some planted soon (late this year as hung on with moving).
To do:
Go to new house.
Phone gas supplier, really mad, yesterday I put £20 on my NEW gas prepaid card after phoning them last week to tell them I was moving in. The meter took £4.89 off for emergency credit recall and then took £10.69 of for someone elses debt.:mad: Tried to phone them and they were closed as it was Sunday. I am NOT paying someone elses gas debt off GRRR.
Get some cream paint for my new craft room!
Get at least this room done today, (put one coat on ceiling last night, artex is horrible to paint). Everything is gonna need at least 2 coats to cover several years of dirt and smoke. My Bro pointed out that at least the smell of the paint will cover the stale smell of smoke!
Nip to Li*l around the corner and get something easy for my lunch and our teas tonight.
Put petrol in tonight at Mr M on way back to flat.
No unecessary spends (Went to Ikea yesterday for house stuff and a couple of house plants snuck into my bag.
)
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Good Morning all
DNMS - Thanks for starting us off and hope you have a great day
Today's little list (very repititive but helping at the moment)
Check Banks - done
Check Swapits and relist cards not swapped - all swaps now ready for posting
Update food tracker (19lb off up to now since Sept) - in progress
General tidy up in attic - in progress
Read ("Lost Boy") - in progress, struggling to concentrate
Comps
Try to sparkle
Sort more photos into albums - in progress
More decluttering -
Ask on Freecycle for "Twister" as son would love it
Ironing - absolutely nothing left to iron (or wash) - yippee
Hope you all have a great day, love to you all
