    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Congrats to JG - Eliza looks gorgeous, well done x

Very frosty and clear this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early this morning. Had a lovely weekend, always enjoy getting away - but come back down to earth with a bump afterwards! Boys enjoyed being with grandparents, but unfortunately aunt was rushed into hospital on Friday night, and will see consultant today - hoping they keep her in hospital for a bit as mum and dad finish up doing all the care and they're at the end of the road - neither of them are in the best of health and aunt can be quite nasty - I appreciate she's ill and in pain a lot of the time but there's no need to be nasty and spiteful to the only family that consistently care for her and bother with her.

As I'm on leave this week will spend the week doing all the jobs I need to get done, hopefully by the end of the week, everything will be in much better order and I'll be more organised - well, that's the plan anyway!!

I haven't really planned a dinner for tonight, but have got some gammon steaks in the fridge, so will grill those and serve them with egg, mash and veg for the menfolk and I've got some fish in the freezer - which I will have. Will get a meal plan for the rest of the week together later, I do need to buy some more milk and a loaf of bread today. Will also get some baking done if time allows - if not will do it tomorrow. Also need to do all the normal household chores, washing, drying, ironing and housework etc - think I'm going to be a busy bee!!

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

    Morning all,

Brrrr cold here too, but there is a good wind, so lots of washing will be done today :T

Tru, I would go for the half curtain, would make a huge difference to the light xx

We have kind of a loft room, off of our bedroom kind of like a giant walk in wardrobe, well this has become a bit of a dumping ground, so yesterday all three of us tackled it, got a small amount for the tip, put loads away in the loft, and found more stuff to ebay, it looks so much better now :T
and last night I spent a few hours listing more items on ebay, have a few bids and watchers allready, more cash towards dd's trip.

Roast chook, spuds and veggies for dinner, and I need to hoover through, have a clean up and do an online shop.

    Have good days all

LW how are you doing ?? x

Do you "need" them to close if you have a blind? If not, then I would go for decorative ones to finish the window, and allow the light to get in. Tab tops don't always look good when they're very full IMHO.

    Floss x

Thanks floss  You've just made my mind up for me.

I don't need to close them. Mr tru has this thing in his head - "what's the point of curtains if they don't work as curtains?" Plus the window is above the worktop and I won't be able to reach to close them properly. Tab tops don't run easily across the rail when you open/close them, like hooks or rings do. I wouldn't be able to close them properly without standing on a chair and I'm not doing that every day. Skinny curtains it is then :D

Edited - just noticed your post, redruby. That's 2 people who say the same. Mr tru has lose his case, lol.

    Morning All,

Didn't manage to post yesterday but have just gone back and read the thread, also managed to find the pics of Eliza, JG she's beautiful, looks a happy and relaxed baby.
FB glad your move went well, I keep picturing you in your new garden digging up veg:D
Seemed to be quite a few newbies yesterday welcome:wave:

my feet didnt touch the ground yesterday, DB visited while we were still eating breakfast with a couple of black bags of clothes from DSIL. Will keep a couple of things and the rest will be ebayed, she is happy for me to do this, she buys loads and loads of clothes and once she gets fed up of them just chucks them out so we are both happy with the arrangement.
Then DD and DGS and BF called for an hour and a chat, then DSIL in Australia called to say my brother is coming home for a surprise visit on Saturday:eek: which will be lovely but will be a busy week moving our youngest into the box room, which is currently full of ebay stuff so need to move that.
Today will be spent ebaying and have bought some more stuff to sell so have lots of pics to take.
Went out to Cheshire for lunch yesterday which was lovely and buy one get one free which was even better. I had a salad and that is my fourth SW day. I am really enjoying it and feel great. Lets hope the scales are kind to me on Thursday.:D
Tonight tea will be lamb chops salad and new potatoes for the boys and fish for me, I am not keen on red meat.
House is reasonably tidy and most of the washing done and put away yesterday so once I have had brekkie and got dressed can get straight on with ebaying.
Have a good day all, wrap up warm J x

Bitter this morning - it took DH a good 15 mins to defrost the car.
Moorhen I thought that schools had to close if there is no heating - I know that DH's school does, but it is a lower school
    .
DH has just gone upstairs because DD screamed that there was a spider in her jeans :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: that'll teach her to use the floordrobe:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Don't know what is for dinner yet because I haven't done my meal plan yet for the week, so that is something that I want to sort today.

    Keep warm all x

BBC weatherman reckons we could have snow for the weekend ....Oh joy

  • Morning all,

I've been AWOL for a few days - no excuse - just busy doing nothing so it would seem.

Congratulations to JG for Eliza, she's beautiful and such a pretty name.

Today should be my last office day at work and I will then be 'on call' for problems and issues until the end of next week and then that's it. Me & work - DONE! Although it's what I want, and need, it's also a sad day because it does seem a bit like the beginning of the end. I know that I've chosen to stop work, and that it's best for my health etc but I am also worried that people will assume that my health is declining and I'm on the fast bus to heaven. Needless to say, I have no intentions of this being the case, but then who knows what's around the corner. I certainly suspect I'll be having more chemotherapy after my February appointment.

I managed to sell 2 dozen of the girls eggs last week to freinds and family and now, with the cold snap, they have stopped laying. Two eggs in two days is not the way forward and I've been spoiled recently with up to 6 per day. Good job I have cake in the freezer or I'd have to buy eggs - something I've not done since October.

I've set myself a daily 'to do' list for each day of the week in order that I have some kind of schedule. With working for so many years it' a bit odd coming to a full stop and not knowing what to do once I get up. I'm hoping that this gives me a routine until I work out what I am to do with my time. Last week I didn't follow it all that well but it was a useful reference when I couldn't think what to do next. Maybe this week will be more fruitful.

Anyway, back to today. Today being an office day means I need a packed lunch so a tuna sandwich it will be, with plenty of fruit to follow as our fruit bowl is bulging with orange citrus and kiwis, with a few bananas, pears and apples squeezed in too. MrS takes bananas and, if forced, a small orange which must be easy peel, so I can't depend on him to eat it all!

WM & DW are already on, everywhere is tidied and I need to change the beds and hoover before I leave for the day.

Dinner tonight will be either hm pasty type things with veg or left over nut roast with something. Yesterday was my first attempt at nut roast and although we enjoyed it it just wasn't firm enoughand it ended up as a sort of hash once turned out of the dish. The texture was fab though, really 'meaty' and has put off my cravings for roast pork!

Oooh, while I remember, any ideas n how to get candle wax off a waxed table without doing too much damage?

Good afternoon everyone well school run done then tanked up with diesel (£64.18)but that does last me for a month, so not too bad I suppose.Knitting and Natter club was good came home with lots of odd ends of wool for my 'blankeys'.Stopped off at DDs to let the dogs out for a wee, then home again
Men have just fitted a water meter so I'm hoping the bills will come down a bit I pay around £300.00 in water rates a year and there is only me.
