Stubborn people!

Been having a few discussions with people (not on this site) and can't stand those with no open mind. No matter what you say they ignore it and refute it with something else despite you have evidence to prove otherwise.

Grr.

That is all.

I'm very stubborn, i'm also open minded on many topics. Maybe you could be more specific about your gripe :)

I'm studying animal training and behaviour and I've had people on other forums (in fact this one is pretty good for it, hardly ever get it on here lol) that worship Cesar Milan 'The Dog Whisperer'. I've posted studies, articles and pointed out flaws yet still people seem to think he is the bees knees.

His methods he uses are outdated and he's set dog training back many years. It's so infuriating to see people try and copy him and yet when I point out evidence it's dismissed. 'Oh Cesar would never do that, he's great with dogs'. Really? Why is there so much evidence?

Nothing against the guy as a person, I know he's changing his techniques to more positive ones but still. The older episodes are dreadful.

It's a moot point really. We all have different opinions and 'evidence' can be fairly subjective. Just because someone holds a different viewpoint doesn't make them stubborn or closed-minded.

It's a question of degree of course. I think anyone who says the earth if flat is probably a twat but without any detail in the opening post it's difficult to know whether this is such an extreme example.

So your upset about users on MSE defending Cesar Milan's 'The Dog Whisperer'?

Everyone has an opinion, some you will like and some you won't perhaps some are right some are wrong..but who decides who is wrong after all its their opinion isnt it! i love dogs i like dog shows but i'm no expert to say what i just viewed is right or wrong its more of what works at that time, but thats Just my opinion.

I am very very very stubborn but I like to think that I can listen to both sides but more importantly I can admit when i am wrong. But if I absolutely know something is wrong I wont budge.

We can all get set in our ways but times change and opinions should also, morals well no that is another question!:A
