    Afternoon all

I've cleaned the rest of my house through the week and this morning I've done the bathroom/toilet, vacuumed through downstairs, mopped the kitchen floor. Also washing done, the towels are out on the line. Sorted the bookcase in the spare bedroom and ditched a load of videos that were just stuff taped from the television. We still have a video player but it's in the spare bedroom and nobody uses it. When the bin is empty again I'll go through and get rid of pre-recorded stuff that I don't want, which won't be much because I don't have much and I know DH won't let me get rid of any. He can't bear to get rid of anything.

If anybody's had a birthday this week or one coming up, hope it's a good 'un :)

    - done this morning when I got up.

Also going to do 1 Hour Ironing - a pile that has been lying there for ages. I am now at the stage of picking clothes out of the pile.

I have to say I feel fantastic. I even went outside and picked some seasonal foliage to put in a wee vase in the bathroom. It had been quite a long whle since I did house work to this standard:o.

One problem we have in our bathroom is that there is black soot on the walls - But it is on top of wallpaper nd I don't want to damage the wallpaper. Can I just paint over it?? Help please!
    Allie x

Soot is a devil to remove. You can buy a soot removing aerosol. Lakeland used to do it but annoyingly don't anymore, a fireplace shop might. I want to get another myself, never used it on wallpaper but it has been great on fabric and slate. You could try a mix of 50/50 white vinegar and water if the paper is wipeable.

Quite a successful shopping trip, got a new ski jacket (£120 down to £40 so pleased with that) as mine is 9 years old and very thin now. Got a few little bits for DS3's bithrday and had my photos done - hideous. I'll do the form next and get that posted and then planning a HH flying before doing dinner and going to a Governor briefing, really not in the mood for that.

How much is it if they are reducing it by £80  never spent £80 on a bag let alone any more.

Floors hoovered and mopped and form posted. Time for a cuppa and a list update.
