    I am totally lost and dono what the hell a POP3 is. I will go back and check it all again although I have been doing all day and it all looks as it should. I will let you know! ty x

    Nope its as you say, the email addy is .com and the server POP thingy is .net.

    You appear to be having problems ~sending~ email, so no point looking at the POP3 settings - that's for incoming mail. It's the SMTP settings for the Outgoing Server that you need to check, which in my version of Thunderbird is right at the bottom of the account settings.

    As above the server is relay.plus.net.

    In my case my main plusnet email address takes the form [EMAIL="user@name.plus.com"]user@name.plus.com[/EMAIL], and the Username for the Outgoing Server has to be "name+user".

    I should add that it's possible that the problem is at their end, not yours - for example a DNS error, though it seems unlikely.

    I think anybody who understands this stuff is a genius :mad: Many thanks for patience! At the outgoing server bit at the bottom is says
    plusnet relay server - relay.plus.net .....................but my username is just my own one word username on Plusnet. Is that the problem? But I cant see how to edit that.
    I put a support ticket into Plusnet last night but not answered as yet.

    OK. Got answer fr Plusnet saying they had refreshed my mailbox, and to try again. And now it works. TY for all help :j:j:j
