I hop you're making your fortune.... my stuff's died and I am still not in a good mental position to be able to crack on and actually get it all sorted and up and running again.... I poke about with my content most days, but not in a structured or beneficial way... more staring at pages and thinking "pfft... one day, just not today".

You must have made a fortune on your first one if you're doing more.... where fortune = worthwhile potential bearing in mind it's residual.... or making you're well minted now and spend your time buying big bottles of champers.

    :)

I'm in a kind of weird place right now. The kind of writing I like is not very profitable, but the erotica I did to practice naughty things IS very profitable. The weird thing is I think in six months if I was just to write erotica I could be making an absolutly huge amount of extra money.

As in hundreds of pounds a day, every day.

I don't really want to do it, though.

    Incidentally on poorly written things.....

I downloaded a meditation ap which has a pretty decent meditation to relax to to go to sleep. The only problem is my body starts to resist when the chap starts saying that he is goin to count from ten to one and at each numbe you are hoing to relax ten percent, because i want to ask if he means that and i am to stay a weeny bit tense by only relaxing ten percent of the ninety percent let at nine etc or if he means you will relax ten percent of the total tension at the beginning. My wondering how this could be better phrased adds to my tension and i i start to try and calculate the percentages in an obcessive compulsive manner and the whole thing is a mess. All for the want of a better turned phrase.

When I first got the Internet, I read some stuff and thought "this is rubbish, I could write much better than this".... but I'd not feel right about doing that. Even being a regular, google-approved, affiliate I feel dirty for my content writing :(

I have friends online that make money from running dirty sites - shock, not !!!!!! - and one's got an image upload site. It's amazing how much they rake in from the desperate.

I would NEVER trust reviews that say a bestseller is poorly written. They generally come from people who are failed writers.

Personally, I would download the sample on kindle and see for yourself.

The writing is coming on more or less as I expected. At the moment the point is to get better at it. Money is not yet the goal, I think it is a distraction. That said money does trickle in from it even though I'm still not very good:)

What if the review was about a best seller written by dan brown? Woul you trust it then? Worst. Written. Books. Ever.

No, actually, I still wouldn't trust it. Dan Brown is actually a very good writer, and his book is very good. I've learned alot by studying him. You are not in his target market: his targe market is 'light reading' or the people who used to buy pulps.

But,...surely that means a reviewer reviewing for chewy's market is right.dan brown aint for him?!

Perhaps the ticket is where you read reviews. Its highly likely i won't find a positive rebiew of a book i would love in a motoring magazine for example.

Incidentally, stoppin wastin time on cheap ch ick lit was enabling in life. Even quite sweet ones were not actually life enhancing one. I just don't want to waste time in carp. Therecare so many great books , new and old, i will never read all the ones i could love by the time i die. :(

I'm not going to claim any book written in my life time is great. That's really a judgement best left to history. Mostly it is irrelevant in my view.
