Trying to do a bit more reading.
Went shopping yesterday for picture frames (for pics I was given for my birthday, in October!:o). Got some nice simple frames. 2 of the pics fit perfectly. One of the pics is on a board & is just a tiny bit too big:mad:. Gotta work on a way to trim it down.
Walked to work again today, as it was a lovely morning. This is my way at trying to exercise better. I really need to do stuff to keep some fitness levels up & improve how active I am. I am walking an hour here, & an hour back. Building up to doing that 5 days a week.
i want to cycle to work, it's about 14 miles each way which would be more or less perfect, but i am too scared to cycle through central london in rush hour.
i could get the jubilee line to london bridge and then walk from there to canary wharf, that takes about an hour from memory, although frankly i'd rather do half an hour on a cross trainer or exercise bike than 2 hours of walking to and from canary wharf!0 -
Do people really still make comments to women about it being the wrong time of the month? It was phrased worse than that and directed at me. I find that disgusting.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

badminton is too advanced for me as it involves co-ordination.
i went skiing at hemel last night. it was ok, although i was there 7-10pm and the slope had basically been ruined by 1,000,000 people using it earlier in the day. i think if i had got there at opening time it would have been pretty good. i was also impressed by the fact that there was no traffic on the way there or on the way back, and it only took me half an hour or so to drive there from richmond.
the lessons were rubbish because there was one person there who couldn't ski but just booked themselves on the intermediate lesson presumably because there wasn't a beginners lesson at a convenient time for them. instructor spent the whole time teaching them to stand up on skis and as a result i was no better at the end of the lesson. they really should have just kicked that person off.0 -

well, yes, but only to my mum, sister and OH! i don't think i would try that at work, unless i wanted a disciplinary hearing.0 -

Here it's usually me saying it to myself. I never used to have an issue with it, but have in recent years, and it does feel a bit like some furious possession.. Tbh, on some of my hormone driven outbursts I probably get us all a bad reputation.

Busy morning but I think I'm about caught up....neverdespairgirl wrote: »Excuse me if I talk in exclamation marks again today. Apparently, our buildings insurance doesn't cover gas pipes. Shouldn't it?
Insurance is horrible and in my mind they have a worse image than bankers if I'm honest. Hope you sort it without having to jump through too many hoops.lostinrates wrote: »I walk dogs most days twice...once somewhere public, once accross the fields. Still keep getting fatter. Grrrrrre.
Have been trying to image shack or tiny pic photos but ironically the media friendly it provider doesn't seem compatible with image sharing using anonymous media. There is probably another one I could use but who knows. I haven 't worked out iCloud yet, and doubt that is incognito
You sound a wee bit out of sorts lir. Hope you get back on top of it all soon.0 -
I know someone who has recently bought a house in need of a bit of "refurb" only to discover a few months after purchase that the neighbourhood has just been made a "conservation area".
Leaving aside the matter "why do we pay solicitors to do searches?"; does the "Conservation Area" status mean bye bye Permitted Developemt rights?0 -
Doozergirl wrote: »Don't they have a turn up and play at a leisure centre near you? There's one down here, H has been (albeit twice, though that's more than the gym)
Walking is great - you'll soon start getting that Vitamin D you've been missing, two birds with one stone there.
I wish! I did find a couple of clubs, but they only play doubles. I prefer singles personally. Perhaps I should see if I can find something like that. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I don't really know London, so can't say. However, I do get confused about cross trainers/running machines & all that. I don't see the point in running for 2 miles to travel absolutely nowhere!
I also prefer to exercise outside/in the fresh air (perhaps that is why you don't want to exercise in London?)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

No. Only idiots do things like that.
