This doesn't prove anything either. For a "commission-based" engineer it does make much sense to reject a handset with an unclear fault after spending 15 minutes on it, then to spend a long unpredictable time on trying to repair it for some small commission. Big number of small easy jobs looks far more attractive.The repair company is paid when they repair a handset. If they don't repair a handset they don't get paid.
Don't know about escalation, but the first point is definitely not the case for CPW. Can we agree that they are not a good repair company then?A good repair company will provide proof of the damage and have an escalation procedure for when a dispute arises as to w whether the handset is damaged.0 -
They do provide proof of the damage via photograph, there is an escalation process if there's a dispute. You are just speculating, yet you think you know more than someone who worked there for a number of years and dealt with repairs on a daily basis.Have I helped? No I am not speculating. We have already seen an example of so called 'proof' in the thread I quoted.
I don't want to waste time on searching, but I am sure that there were several reports about the phones rejected by CPW because of the alleged water damage and without any proofs.
Also, as I said many times, the proofs are very easy to fabricate as usually customers don't bother even to take a photo of the liquid damage indicators before handing the phone over to a repairer. A tiny droplet of water will do the job. Yes, this is a speculation.0 -
That's one instance. I saw hundreds of the things in my time there. I did have a couple of instances where I felt a mistake had been made and the customer wanted me to escalate it, it's no skin off a consultants nose to send it back to a higher tier engineer to double check the decision.Have I helped? One instance posted here. It's pretty typical for people just to go away and give up without complaining and escalating. Even if 75% do this, it's a good result for CPW and 'engineers'.0

That is not commission - that is a repair fee. Commission is the contribution given to an employee when a sale is achieved.
These engineers are not selling services, they are providing them and as such are being paid a fee.
Given they cannot influence the flow of handsets for repair they cannot be on commission.
If they are paid by repair, they are paid by repair, this is not commission.0
