Different channel groups may be on different multi-plexes. So while you may be able to watch a few channels properly (on one multi-plex), you may not be able to watch others (on another multi-plex) as well. It may also be related to the modulation/bit-rate used for the channels. A lower modulation scheme, will probably result in a more stable picture.

The issues you are having can be related to the coaxial cable and aerial (+location) as mentioned by others.

Problem is with the antenna or the co-axial cable. The coax should ideally be replaced every 5 to 7 years. The problem you are having is purely because the signal for freeview at Waltham is on low power. When analogue is switched off it'll be a lot better.

The analogue transmissions from Waltham were switched off in August 2011.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Ah...guess they didn't get to upping the power yet then.
  • Have you tried a different aerial lead? Assuming you have one running from a socket to the TV, try a different one. Sometimes faulty aerial leads cause the problems you are describing ( we know because we had that problem at a customer's just the other day!! Changed the aerial lead and everything was fine!)
