Did this with last atos form they got it in 4 days..
Some jobcenters appear to have stopped doing this - http://www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/1428/#5472 is one thread I recall.
It's important to realise that for some benefits - if you hand it over to the jobcentre - and they are not the department that normally deal with it - even if they say they will forward it for you, if they do not, you have not informed the 'relevant office' about your claim. Even if you do have a receipt.
An actual tracked letter to the proper office is the better way.0 -
The same has happened to me yesterday, they don't help when you contact them.I had to ask the advisor 8 times to speak to someone else with no joy, what do i do next.0

I now always send anything to do with DWP by the Royal Mail Signed For system. Although this too has its problems
Even following the tracking on the RM wesbite isn't always accurate if the forms get delivered as a batch - the batch will be signed for but often each individual form isn't. I couldn't tell if my form had been delivered as I could never get through to my delivery centre as it was always engaged. Luckily it had been, but I did worry about it for some time.
Where the signed for system does help is when the delivery centre lose your form but deny all knowledge of having received it. After 2 phone calls I was asked to send the receipt from the post office as proof of posting with a printout from the RM site as proof of receipt. Naturally I didn't trust them with the original receipt so sent a copy via signed for & guess what?
They lost that one too even though that tracked through RM . Maybe it is just my BDC (St. Austell) that are having "problems with their post" although sadly it doesn't sound like it.
Regarding reminder letters for returning ESA500 - I sent mine back very close to the cut off as they'd promised to send me a large print version so I could complete it myself. When a second normal print form arrived (sigh) I walked up to my local JC+ & got them to enlarge it to A3 (only took best part of an hour & 3 members of staff to do it :rotfl:).
I didn't receive a single reminder letter about returning the form, even though I did find out that it was received the day before it was due (phew).
I've also not had a letter about an appointment with my disability "advisor" & first I'd heard about that appointment was when they rang me to cancel it with less than an hour to go. Interstingly it is only ever mail from DWP?JC+ that goes missing (as far as I can tell). I've never had any missing post from banks, hospitals etc. - makes you wonder. And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0
