Hi, think I may have received a fake email, pretending to be from O2.
The email says:
O2 NEW YEAR OFFERS.....Don't miss out !!!
from: o2shop@o2.com
Get a £100 gift voucher to spend on either, Amazon.co.uk, Next, Pizza Hut. Argos, Boots, or any o2 Stores all over the UK when you sign In.
To Get Started, Please Click the link Below.
(link removed)
Hurry while offer last
It has an O2 banner etc in the email but when you click through it comes up with a strange address in the bar:
http://www.yarkoradio.com/muv/O2/O2/login.htm
It should be:
https://www.o2.co.uk/login?sendTo=http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2
Both pages look almost identical to each other. Am I right in saying this is some kind of scam? Or I am just being over careful? I haven't logged in from the email - I never do.

Due to the non 02 address comming up i would say its spam, contact 02 to verify and pass it onto their anti-fraud department.
I would run your security sofware on your computer as even just cliking the link can put viruses etc onto your computer.0 -
Thanks for that, will do.•

A definate scam attempt to get hold of your log in details.
There are few things that give this away.
The genuine O2 log in page web address begins with a HTTPS (The "S" means it is a secure link).
The link in the e-mail that you received is a plain HTTP address.
The bottom of the scam webpage shows
© 2010 Telef!nica UK Limited.
but the genuine O2 page is
© 2011 Telef!nica UK Limited.
So the scammers have copied an old webpage.
If you enter incorrect log in details on the genuine site, you are informed that they are incorrect.
This does not happen with the fake site. (We have a very old clockwork PC at work that I've just used to try this!).0 -
Another tip for you.
Save the genuine 02 page link (and other companies you use) in your favorites then you dont need to click links on e-mails.0
