  • thank you op for this deal!

I have been in the past to Camber Sands. It was a bit (to say the least) scruffy, but it did the job and my son had the best holiday ever. We stayed in standard accommodation and it was clean though decaying in places but the beach at Camber is fantastic and there is loads to do in the area.

And now we can go away in the summer holidays instead of October with the Sun holiday deal and has probably cost a bit less.

I think deciding if it's for you is all very subjective.

Although I did a quote (as shown above) to see what we could book, we always go to Butlin's since we can go silver room and Breakfast/Dinner for around £120 for four nights. We usually get two bedrooms if we shop carefully too.

We tried Haven once and we completely and utterly hated it, we found there was nothing to do or see - but other people love it and really enjoy it, I read the reviews on line from the same week at the same camp and was amazed at what other people said. We found the caravans freezing cold and had to run the fire all night and have two quilts on each bed, whereas Butlin's was warm, quiet and there was LOADS to do.

I think if it's close to you, £100 for a four night break is a really good deal (notice I bumped up our price by adding an entertainment and two welcome packs) though we'll be booking Butlin's again because we know just what we're getting and all the food is included.

I'm not sure on line reviews are that helpful without knowing the person who wrote them. I've read reviews of Butlin's for the weeks we went and some people hated that, complaining about it being dirty and such, but that was not our experience.

we love butlins too and it is so much better than pontins and haven (although the kids love them all) if you could tell me where i could get butlins half board in the summer holidays for £120 i would be very interested xx

Sadly I don't think that's do-able, we go in May/June and it's just me and our son (husband so traumatised by Haven he won't come any more) so we always get a good deal.

I just wanted to add to this thread because on the website it does say they have sold out now but it is still worth giving them a call.

My lovely FIL pays for us to have a 7 night stay each summer, last night i decided to check the August prices for the 2 budget appartments we require, last year this cost him £908 but this year the quote was £1710 which is a masive hike and one he could not afford.

I gave them a call and despite blue cross saying 'sold out' on the website they bolted a 3 night and 4 night break together for us so 7 nights in the last week of August for £180,we need 2 appartments so obviously that is £360 for us and for a week at such a peak time it is amazing and a saving of £1350 on the brochure price! Plus the appartments are classic so a grade up from what we normally have.

There was no club left but they had classic, this was at the Camber sands park, didn't ask about others as i can't travel that far and he did say they were running very low but if you are quick it is worth a call.
