I download avast free security onto my laptop about a month ago and now it is saying it is not secure and asking me for £20 to use it.
I thought it was free - does anyone know how to continue using for free?

When you install it you get 2 options; 1 being the free option and 1 being the paid for option so you might have chosen the paid option.0

you just have to register the free version, they give you a license for a year.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

If you open up avast main screen what does it say under registration which is under maintenance.0

I tried to reinstall a new program of avast for free but nothing seems to have happened, It did say it did install the program ok but it still want me to pay 20 and it was the free version defo. Should I uninstall it first and try again, the only trouble is I have forgotten how to uninstall a download ???became debt free December 060

Recommendation
Instead I recommend if it is a Windows OS to use 'Microsoft Security Essentials' because it from the manufacturer of Windows itself and I have been using since it first came out and have had no problems. It integrates well into windows doesn't bother as much as AVG what i had before.

Yes -uninstall and reinstall.
I didn't "register" my avast, just selected the free option.
