Free Range or Value eggs?

our local newsagent sells large free range (supplied by his milkman) at 69p a 1/2 doz. they are the only ones i buy as its helping him (since he lost his post office) and they are better value than mrT or Sains.

I am the same but am mostly doing without or rationing (I live in a city and the shop prices have jumped up) . GF is vegan so she makes good baking without eggs though so it's not all doom and gloom.

I buy only free range, usually from the supermarket but from a farm shop/market when I'm near one. Occasionally organic when the price difference is only a few pence.

Myself, I wouldn't buy "barn" eggs again. That said, there is only the two of us and we a still lucky enough to have a bit of leeway in our finances (although not much!). If I had a family to feed and not much ££ coming in things might be different. I don't like to preach so just say buy the absolute best you can afford.

Only free range, farm shop, local shops, supermarket. I wouldn't be able to compromise on this at all.

Im still trying to find a good place to buy egg's.

Sadly atm the moment i have to buy the cheap value eggs and try not to think about the conditions the poor chickens are kept in. tbh i if i could find a good reliable source of free range that where affordable i'd switch in a heartbeat.

We go easily though 30-60+ eggs a week if not more, depending on the stage me and my husband are at with our training. If im getting ready for contest prep it can be easily more because my diet often calls for egg white omelletes made with 8 eggs every morning, and i simply can't afford to spend on free range.

I really would love too but i can't find anywhere to buy them in those amounts that doens't cost the earth, i alread spend an obseen amount of money to upkeep my training, something has to give somewhere and sadly it's with the chickens.

I get my eggs from a local greengrocer, his eggs are cheaper than the value ones at the supermarket and they're large (value ones are much tinier).

I pay 89p for 6 eggs. Not free range, but they are supplied to him from a farmer.

I would like to be able to afford free range eggs but I simply cannot at this time. Hopefully when more debts are paid down/off I will have more leeway with this. I generally buy my eggs at Iceland 15 for £1.50.

i get eggs from my sister, so they are not strictly 'free range' i'm sure but they get to wander round her garden, and sometimes the kitchen....

she only has 3, and her garden is medium, but the get locked up at night... not sure what counts as completely free range, bur hers are happy, two of them love the kids...

Your sisters chickens are free range.

If they didn't get locked up at night, they wouldn't be safe from predators.
