Same here. I just cannot afford free range . I just try not to think of the poor chickens. I find Iceland much better value than Asda smartprice and Poundland as they are bigger.Sealed pot challenge 5430 -
I paid £2.58 for 12 medium free-range eggs today in Tesco but then went to Lidl and saw their Welsh free-range were £1.25 (from memory). Now that OH has been made redundant, he has the time to go to the butchers so I'll get him to check out the prices!Just when I'm about to make ends meet, somebody moves the ends0

I get my eggs at the Farmers Market. I always go to the same chap, who sells lovely free range eggs; one time I had a whole half-dozen box of double-yolkers!
I'd love to keep chickens but it simply isn't practical.
I also buy my bread flour from the same chap.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Free range.
6 for a quid odd.
I'm not veggie, but cannot seem to buy the others as it seems to do my head in.
I think they still work out cheap.
I've just had a filling meal with egg fried rice and onion, just using one egg.0 -

DH has just walked in & handed me a dozen free range eggs from Booths supermarket for £1.50. Our kids are keen for us to buy more hens & I suppose its only a matter of when.0

Are they the Clarence Court ones? I love the colour of those but my local branch no longer sells them.

I used to get those from Tesco, but they stopped doing them.
When I DO get hens (I told you I was determined!), I'd like to have one or two that lay pastel coloured eggs because they're so pretty!0
