  • Came home today to find yet ANOTHER parcel on the doorstep after complaining to the sorting office about it! Also found my mail through the letterbox in the door in pieces after being chewed by the dog.
Did the postie not see the big white letterbox outside right next to the door??!!!!!

    >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

What IS it with some of these monkeys?!

(but not all posties are like that!)

    Come on, that's really unfair.

If you don't want your ordinary letterbox to be used, then BLOCK IT UP - not expect some (possibly temporary) postie to be psychic. ::)
  • Yes, but it's Fridays our postie seems to take off. I live in a block of flats and all the tenants have noticed that no-one ever gets mail on a Friday. We all get lots on Saturday though. ???
if i had known then what i know now
  • I postal deliveries are much more infrequent than they used to be and often arrive in the afternoon. A couple of months ago bags full of letters destined for my area were found dumped in bushes!

Many of the deliveries are now carried out by casual workers who do not even wear a Royal Mail uniform.

Many credit card companies now diguise their mail because so many credit cards have gone astray in the post

Good on you MrB and the other posties for speaking out. I used to do some summer work and my dad is still driving wagons after 30yrs. Its the management to blame- can't make a decent decision. They make front end staff redundant left right and centre to cut costs and then wonder why they've had to cut back services. The managers get stressed and then take it out on the ones who are lucky to still have a job- that's if they're not on sick leave for actually being stressed.

I worked overtime one Sunday afternoon sorting etc at a local office, for 4 staff there were 7 managers on the floor. What kind of management is that!!!

To privatise the whole letter sector is a big mistake- see my moans on Citylink (AKA Sh!ttylink). The last thing we need is letters being treated the same as this dumb company does.
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:
  • My postie used to complain that my letterbox was too small????? What?? as far as i'm concerned letters fit and thats that, its not a parcel box for gods sake, the ejit used to force any sized parcel through, not only ruining my goods, but also he has now knackered up my letterbox.

Anyone know if i can complain to get the cost of a new letterbox, as the ejit has ripped the screws from my uPVC door and they wont fix back properly.

I'd love to find out where this guy lives and screw his door up!!!

  • Our post is very similar to your complaints - comes late afternoon, none at weekends. One weekend in fact, we got none all week and then at 9pm on the Sat night a big pile came through the door. I emailed them and complained and they reckoned the temporary postie that had been on that week had put them through the wrong door and someone had just dropped them off to us. However, I did get two books of stamps for my trouble.

Leaving parcels outside is a tough one. I try to order things to arrive at the weekend cos otherwise they either get left in my bin/on doorstep in full view of street/over garden fence.

Royal mail has gone well downhill. I appreciate its not the postmens fault but I really think something ought to be done to sort it out as there is no alternative.

Dont get me started on recorded delivery...
