ADSL broadband is an "up to" service. When you sign up, you're supposed to be given an estimate of the speed you'll get, and there are actions you can take if the connection cannot achieve that.
The biggest bottleneck/slowdown with ADSL isn't normally the ISP but the length and the quality of the phone line. In this manner, a few exceptions aside, and assuming the connection isn't actually faulty in some way, no other ISP can perform significantly better down the same piece of wire.
Here's one relevant exception: Sky have two products, one is called Connect and is simply a resold BT service. The performance of that is thought to be dreadful by many, and may not even achieve the speeds the line might be capable of. The other is called an LLU service and is generally thought to be very good.
If you currently have Connect and if your new place is connected to a different exchange then you may move to an LLU service.
Otherwise, your recourse to cancel may be with the current speeds you get, but, if you're moving away, you may not have time to pursue that.
Then it's up to you as to whether to break the contract and pay the early termination fees and start afresh at your new place with someone else, or move with them and see out the contract (and, perhaps, have to start a new one at the new place).0 -
IIRC Sky have a 30 days cancellation policy well they do for the TV, have a check of you contract0
