Tipping my Hairdresser

I would never leave a cafe, restaurant or hairdresser or taxi or workmen in house, removal men (I'm thinking of all the people I tip) without leaving a tip or somesort, whether its money or beer or whisky. The question on what happens to tips, its taxed income same as anything else. I used to work in a large hotel as casual staff member and our tax code was adjusted to account for tips. Our manager wrote to HMRC and advised them that the staff were not allowed tips so got our codes back up to stanard code.0

I've never tipped my hairdresser before, nor the junior who washes my hair/makes me a drink.
It's a profession that they have chosen to go into and they would know that they would not get paid a lot whilst training, but when qualified could charge quite a bit to their customers.
Having said that, I have often tipped at restaurants when I've had a good meal/service, but it's usually not a regular eatery place so it would perhaps be a special outing.
I'm going to another hairdresser this weekend just for a wash and set as my daughter is getting married away from my home town, but unless it's cheap and she does a good job, then she will not be tipped either. Nor with the make up lady who's doing my face!
Nobody tipped me when I started out as a junior in an office, I was the lowest paid person and it was just as it was!
That's just my take on things.0
