***WARNING***Someone very easily set up a new account in my name with a company called https://www.creditexpert.co.uk by Experian and within 30 minutes of receiving a FREE report with all MY DETAILS they emptied ALL my bank accounts!!!
It was very easily done....i found this out when i got a letter from CreditExpert thanking me for joining!!!! I called them and they admitted that their Fraud Team had now stopped my account. TOO LATE

NOW ALL MY BANK ACCOUNTS ARE FROZEN and I'M BROKE!:mad::mad:

Their own Victim Of Fraud Team are now looking into this!!!

How can that happen unless someone knows all your personal data AND has your credit or debit card to pay for the report?
  • I used them and it asks very exacting information in order to give you any info back. You would have to be a family member or master stalker extraordinaire to have it all, maybe bent police or doctor could do it.
Im sure it does happen especially if rich or famous, not really a scam though

I would usually suggest you were mistaken, considering that the creditexpert report does not contain any sort code or bank account numbers.
but the wording of your thread title suggests you have just made it all up.

Can't figure out your motivation though.

They got all my details...mortgage, time resident, loans and bank from https://www.creditexpert.co.uk then phoned my bank, passed the security checks (they knew me better than i did from CreditExpert file!) and transferred from ISA and Savings into my current A/C then set up bogus Standing Orders with 'fast payment'...all done over the phone! Then the money was presumably withdrawn from "their" accounts immediately!
They did a test approval within 6 minutes of Experian credit check (£30.00 to O2, 86p to Expedia?) then milked my accounts immediately. CreditExpert Fraud Team did NOT alert me to the fact that all my details had been accessed fraudulently so i was oblivious to it all!!!

And there I was thinking using CreditExpert reduced your chances of being scammed, i.e. it lets you know of any fraudulent transactions in your name or loan apps that you have not applied for.

Unless the fraudsters have thought of a way of doing the reverse, mind you I suppose anythings possible in this day and age.

Bank address was obtained from file
NOT MADE UP - CreditExpert admitted access to "my report" at 14:07, accounts accessed 14:13...coincidence??? I think not!

    Motivation = warn others!

I wasn't sure how to warn you all of how easy it was to be scammed in this way....i thought i was immune to scamming but if they got me they can get anyone!

They managed it! It wasn't until CreditExpert Fraud Team 'closed' my account next day that they were aware of something illegal (they never told me anything...all i got was a generated "welcome letter" whch indicated to me that someone was pretending to be me the day before!).

So which bank should we be avoiding using?
Surely it's their poor telephone banking security that's at fault here - if it is indeed true, of course.
