Question for the Experian rep

If the bank knowingly maintains an incorrect database, then they are in breach of DPA 1998. Go after them, rather than Experian."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

Its the bank that have recorded the incorrect information not experian.
So the issue is with BOS rather than Experian. If this was just a case of contacting experian and requesting for information to be
updated without the lenders consent there would be a lot of happy consumers.

Or email Experian: customer-relations@uk.experian.com
I currently have an incorrect linked address issue on my credit report which is currently being investigated.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Not so. Both have. Every CRA records, processes, and disseminates data (which they receive from banks etc.) As the links I posted above make clear, if a data subject disputes an entry about him, the CRA should at best remove it, and at worst mark it as in dispute. How the CRA takes it up with its source is a matter between the CRA and its source, but note the guidance I posted from the Information Commissioner. Its the bank that have recorded the incorrect information not experian.
Data subjects can complain to the Information Commissioner if a CRA holds wrong information about them. They can also sue the CRA for damages for defamation. A prudent CRA will disseminate disputed information only if it is convinced, after contacting the source, that the information is correct. But a CRA has no standing to judge who is telling the truth. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

That could have been done by the op themselves they could have put a notice of correction on there credit file.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
***WARNING***Someone very easily set up a new account in my name with a company called www.creditexpert.co.uk by Experian and within 30 minutes of receiving a FREE report with all MY DETAILS they emptied ALL my bank accounts!!!
It was very easily done....i found this out when i got a letter from CreditExpert thanking me for joining!!!! I called them and they admitted that their Fraud Team had now stopped my account. TOO LATE
NOW ALL MY BANK ACCOUNTS ARE FROZEN and I'M BROKE!
Their own Victim Of Fraud Team are now looking into this!!!
Very sorry to hear of your 'Experian', sorry experience.
To prevent anyone doing this in future to any other reader check out the following link FREE ID PROTECTION.

Why aren't you Informing Consumers of the Free ID Protection system?0 -
Do not be fobbed off by the CRAs' "notice of correction" procedure. This just enables you to add your side of a story. The CRAs are required by the Data Protection Act to ensure that the information they hold and disseminate about you is accurate, and you can insist that they correct wrong information. That could have been done by the op themselves they could have put a notice of correction on there credit file.
But I like the "thumbprint" prank:)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Im just at a loss to where they are gonna put this information on the report.
As when an account query is put on an experian report it would relate to something for example dispute in the balance on the account not "linked addresses".Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Just raise and compaint with BOS and be done with it...
As an underwriter myself I do not see where this disputed information for linked addresses could be added to a credit report.
By the time you have asked the questions here you could have taken the time to make a complaint and possibly get compo as a result of it if you play your cards right
