Thanks for all your comments, I am having the clutch done at the same time. I don't think the garage people like me though, he asked me if my car has 'locking wheel nuts' and I said I didn't know and he looked like he wished I was never born.**Debt Free as of 15:55 on Friday 23rd March 2012**And I am staying that way

Well, it's kinda hard to do anything to a car when you can't remove the wheel nuts to remove the wheels. There's usually 1 locking wheel nut per wheel. You should always take the wheel nut key to the garage with you.
In the case of no key they have two legal options, drill out the wheel nut OR purchase a key from a dealership. A lot of garages have a box full of wheel nut keys that have been "obtained" from various sources (scrap yards and blokes down the pub), so they'll be cursing your name while they go through every single key to find one that fits

I've never been asked before, and I've had tyres done lots of times. I do feel a bit silly for not knowing - but that is his job really..**Debt Free as of 15:55 on Friday 23rd March 2012**And I am staying that way

Just look at them - is one different from the others? If so, that's the lock nut.
you really need to check because if you don't have the key and you get a puncture you won't be able to get the spare on.

I have done this before and it seemed to go on ok so I guess they aren't locking ones.
