Aerial for Romford

Must buy an aerial soon for the kitchen portable (rest is on Virgin cable)
Doing a postcode checker for RM70RS, I find that my transmitters are Crystal Palace and Bluebell Hill. Unfortunately if CP the requirements are a type A and if BH it needs a Wideband.
How can I identify which will "definitely" be the transmitter I will use. Thanks.

A W/B on CP will work just fine from Romford, Triax Unix 52 is good cover all aerial in W/B.
But looking at the strengths at that postcode and your neighbors aerials it looks like any old W/B would be ok.0 -
Most round here are on VM or Sky but still have an analoque aerial on their stack. The thing is that they look nothing like the ones I am looking at today. They all seem to be 4 foot long with 32 (16 each side) di-poles and a very small rear relector.
Have the aerials changed in the last couple of years since digital?0 -
A Log-periodic aerial is recommended for your location so I'd suggest a Vision Focus V10-040.
See http://www.wolfbane.com/cgi-bin/tvd.exe?DX=L&HT=10&OS=RM70RS
This will be fine for both transmitters.0 -

MMmm logs, havent used them in years the amount of ill-informed customers that thought we were fitting cheap small aerials becuase they lack the reflectors, baluns etc...0 -

At a guess you are seeing this aerial: https://images.pricelover.com/images/product/6/3/gallery/4C5F91_1.jpg
Cheap as chips around £5.30 trade and thus used every where in London in w/b or GrpA it matters not.0 -

Yes thats the ones. Are you saying that they will do the job OK as well as the latest design ones?0 -
A wideband Yagi aerial is totally unsuited to CP as it has minimum gain in the "Group A" band. However, your signal is so strong (if the prediction is to believed) that it probably won't matter that it's receiving interference better than it's receiving CP.0
