E.On incresed my DD

Oh and phone them up to get them to take a look and have a conversation about how unrealistic the DD estimation is. If it's clear that the estimate of your future energy use is a poor one, then they should reduce your DD.0

E.ON increased my DD from £105 to £149....they also failed to give me the promised £100 dual fuel join-up incentive after the 12 months term. SO I LEFT and joined Npower through topcashback....much cheaper than Eon!0

Mine went up too - from £90-odd per month to £144  !!! No idea where they got that figure from as I was £150 in credit a couple of weeks ago when my last bill was generated.
A quick call to them and I've cancelled my direct debit as my plan has now finished and I'm going back to quarterly billing until I can find something more reasonable. I'll have the money in MY bank account instead for theirs thank you very much. Am waiting for the prices to come down now before I 'tie in' to something new

I dont know what to do, got a letter this morning that says they are putting my DD up from £113 to £187 per month and there is no way i can afford this increase.
I have emailed them but what can I do?
That’s a large increase redhead, the reply to your email should explain why and what we can do to help, however; to make sure that its’ sorted before the next payment is due might be worth giving us a call.
Our Direct Debit calculations are designed to get your account to a zero balance in the Spring (April to June). The new payment will be to cover the remainder of your winter use and repayment of any debit balance. If you’re already in credit, it’s likely that there isn’t enough to cover your predicted use from now until Spring.
This is the second time in the last few months they have increased mine, first from £59 to £89 and now to £115. I am currently looking for a new supplier!
Same here the_mum, your payments’ have almost doubled so no wonder you’re looking elsewhere.
Do contact us though, the proposed amounts are not set in stone. Difficult to say without the info but it looks like you may have had a large credit balance that kept your payments as low as £59.00 for a while.
We review each time we send a bill so it’s possible that £89.00 wasn’t enough to cover the September price rise and now you’re in debit? Either way, our advisers will be able to offer some suggestions on how to reduce your payments in future.
Hope this helps explain a little, do come back to me if I can help further.
Amanda

You are probably affected to your disadvantage by Eon's horrendous spring zero balance policy.
Please report the matter to Consumer Focus.
Details are in the thread below started by Consumer Focus.

I like the not set in stone comment, EON would not have a poor customer relationship if they did not use their crystal ball method of biasing dd in their favour thus giving them free money to make interest on. I went through this nonsense numerous times but have finally decided to ditch them. Seems to be a similar scam to insurers renewals where the suggested increase is always reversed when you ring up to complain.
Complain using the relevant data, if you get nowhere walk away, it's easy to switch...0
