E.On incresed my DD

I dont know what to do, got a letter this morning that says they are putting my DD up from £113 to £187 per month and there is no way i can afford this increase.

I have emailed them but what can I do?

Yes same here they emailed me before Xmas. I rang them and they were quite helpful, make sure you keep a regular check on your usage. They tend to predict 6 months ahead what your usage will be then adjust accordingly. good luck

This is the second time in the last few months they have increased mine, first from £59 to £89 and now to £115. I am currently looking for a new supplier!

Maybe I am the odd one out...they reduced mine from £60 to £48!
  • Jesus!! I only pay £76 with OVO. How many people are there in your house?

Red... try going on the compare sites to make sure you are on the cheapest tariff for E.on - unless you are on a fixed tariff?

I did this in November with my provider and by changing tariff and being more careful with the electric I have brought my DD down.
I am well known in my home for unplugging things.

No. Mine got reduced from £100 (which is an over estimate) to £70 (which is an under estimate) 3 months after they'd increased it from £84.

Personally, though, I care more about whether I'm on the cheapest available tariff, which I am, than the monthly payment because the monthly payments all balance out in the end.

Red...are you in dept to them and paying it back so much a month?

How much is your heating on? anything that heats up costs a lot of electric. From Ch , cookers, tumble dryers, kettles...

Ah, just seen your post on a diffrent area. Having the CH on for 10 every day will make high bills.

I had an unexpected price rise from EON recently. I logged into the EON website and studied my energy use. On the phone they said they had based my future monthly direct debit on a ridiculous usage because my usage was higher than normal in the last 2 months. It was all a bit unfair.

I went into energy saving mode and found my gas usage was down, but my electricity usage was way up. So I started to think about where I could cut down electricity use which really helped, including stopping leaving PC on overnight to backup.

I have now been measuring my usage by checking my meters every night just before going to bed and every morning before using any electricity, so I could be clear on average how much I was using in the day and the night. Now that I'm happy that I've shaved off some kWh it's given me the motivation to switch, so I've moved to nPower.

So just go for it! Reduce your energy usage and compare the market!
