Anyone been paid for visits earlier this month?

Mine were paid early last week
  • I did my SA tax before christmas and selected the box which said I would like it taking of the PAYE at my full time job.

I haven't had any paperwork apart from confirming the money I owe.

How do I find out if they are doing this? and if they do this, will it appear on my wage slips differant?

From the way you have worded it I would have thought if you owe them you have to pay now. It would only be if they owed you that your PAYE tax would be adjusted. Can't guarantee that's correct though as when I was both they always owed me... wish that was still the case now:)

There is an option in your tax return which says you can pay your tax bill through your normal PAYE, rather than in a lump sum (the deadline for this is before 1st Jan)

Last year (first year I got them to do it) I didn't get anything. I had a red "you owe us money" letter in maybe feb time, and I rang them to say that I'd ticked the box to say take it from my PAYE and they acknowledged that.

They are meant to start taking the extra money from April. So in April they hadn't adjusted it, so I called them, again they didn't take it in May, so I called them again and finally got through to someone who knew what I was talking about! They sent me a letter telling me what my new tax code was and extra tax was paid from June onward.

This year I got my letter last week telling me what my new tax code will be from April. So it does appear differently on your wageslip but only because it will have your new tax code instead of 747L (mine is 595L).

    Woohoooo!! :j
My obsessive checking of GR has paid off and I've just bagged a home delivery. Had all but given up on mine going on after everyone else seemed to have seen them last week, but luckily ran out of time to go there yesterday when I'd planned to anyway. (I'm a bit of a snob about that supermarket, it's a bit too common for me usually, but there are a few bits I get there that I've just run out of all at the same time!!

Nope, if you owe them less that £2k you can have it collected via your tax code for the following year. (Need to complete your tax return by 31st Dec to have this option though).

Sarah, you should get a statement through stating your tax due, you should also get a Notice of Coding through that will say that they are reducing your tax code for 2012-2013 for tax due. HMRC will inform your PAYE employer although they'll just get a tax code (rather than details as to why you've changes from the standard code).
