I won't do the big ones. I like the Syndicated visits as well though.

Yes, I've done a few of them too; they worked out alright for the money. I only signed up with TNS last month and did some syndicated ones first then a couple of big ones, but I think I'll be joining you in letting someone else have them next time round. Just did 3 wee ones in under an hour including travelling, with another 30 minutes to write the reports, log them and file the paperwork. Can't beat that! :D

There is help on the first page of this thread regarding tax matters in case you have not already seen it.

This is the help line for newly self employed people at HMRC.

    Hello All,

Any help on this is appreciated.

I started msing just to clear my student overdraft, must have only done around 7 visits in total (work got hectic) so I havent made lots of money...however I am not a bit worried about filing in the tax stuff next month... I have no idea about that stuff. So I'm wondering if someone can put it in simple terms for me?

Also I don't plan to carry on doing msing with being promoted at work so do I need to tell anyone that I am not self employed anymore?

    Thanks in advance

When did you do the mystery shopping work? If it was during the tax year 2011/12 then you will need to submit a tax return by January 2013. There are often discussions about what you need to include and posts at the beginning of the thread mention it as well.

In terms of telling HMRC you aren't self employed any more, I am sure that on their website under self employed it will explain what to do.

Hope the rest of your work goes well :)

So how much work have we all for next week? I've got so many to do tomorrow I have had to sit down and make notes. Last year was dead in April, but this year it seems to have totally gone sky high. Is everyone else doing loads?

With RA, is the 3 station visits set in stone or do they let you do more if you contact them? I'm totally new to them, so have no idea how they work.

I was v busy in February and March (as my March money in shows - was a Good Month :)) Did a few jobs today and got some tomorrow but children are on holiday from school and so I'm not doing so much for the next fortnight.

Next week got a couple of slappers, 3 freezers, 4 banks, some bookies and a couple of randoms. That's enough along with the day job.

I'm a bit confused by those RA jobs, I can't seem to find a brief and the questionnaire is a bit vague.

Go team MM! Wooooooh! Station visits, I think are a bit like an RE visit. You have to ask a question and do various checks. Have a look at the questionnaire, and you will know what is expected of you. Just don't forget to take the photos. How we do that is beyond me. This is going to be a super busy train station. Eeeek.

Hehe! I might be brave and apply for one. I am going to be travelling by train into a station this week so could be a good toe in the water chance.

BTW (and apologies for potentially opening an old wound Mimi ) has anyone else had an email from GAP regarding using tablets for audits?
