Started mystery shopping this year and having to do my first tax return soon. Quick question:
Do you include all purchases/refunds as income/expenses?
    e.g. £20 fee for shop, £5 refund. Income = £25.
Expenses are £5 on fuel, £1 on printing, £30 on a purchase.

What's the profit for tax purposes?
Is it all income minus all expenses, so £20+£5-£5-£1-£30= -11 (no tax payable)
Or refund/purchases not included so £20-£5-£1= £14 profit, so £2.80 tax to be paid.

Or only the refunded part of the purchase included (so £5 of the purchase is due to the mystery shop, and £25 due to my whimsical nature) so
£20+£5-£5-£1-£5=14, so £2.80 to be paid.

Sorry, not such a quick question. Just want to make sure I get it right from the start. Thanks!

In detail and subject to great debate.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

GR pending for tomorrow. I'm totally confused now. I thought someone said they got paid last week? Also, I did a slapper and 2 slapper competitors. How comes they only paid me for the slapper and the competitors are still pending when I did all 3 on the same day? Hope I've not funked them up!

PS. Did a super duper posh dine for Service Scan today. I would highly recommend them.

The have done another pay run today for some reason. I would not worry about the competitor visits mine have not been paid yet either althout everything else up until the end of yesterday has been paid. I am also expecting them to do the usual pay run in the 1st too.

GR seem to be all over the shop atm. I got paid yesterday for a slapper from 3/3, sofa from 6/3 and electrical from 8/3. I still have slappers/competitors pending from 3/3 - 8/3.
