  • ESA clothes shop: am I expected to ask the two shop floor questions to the same member of staff? The briefing notes seem to indicate that I am, but the questionnaire refers to multiple staff members for this section of the assignment. Also, the briefing notes mention nothing at all about asking the MOS in the fitting room to get something in another size, but there is a required question about this on the questionnaire.
    Thanks in advance! :)

Ugh. What a day. 5 assignments and, due to ridiculous requirements and questions and the need to ask for receipts, I think I got made on three of them. It culminated with the manager of a burger store standing by the exit to ask me how my meal was as I left.

Two quick favours please people. Who are IMS and which company does the charity shop visits (I've never seen any listed. And I love charity shops!)

there are ways to handle receipts.
The way to do it is to look like you may need them...

I always ask of Vat or Tax receipt as this is what you would ask for if your self employed and thinking about claiming tax back, rather than asking for a receipt to claim expenses.

Also, not done this but you could carry a bundle of receipts around - petrol and food, and put in in it like you storing them in an expenses book.

Do some of these and you will get offered receipts and you do not have to ask

other thing to do is if you go to these places, order and ask for receipts regularly

King sized THANK YOU to BIG GRAEME, NIM and WHITELABEL. Just got the document changed to a pdf. Woohoo. Had to go to a cyber cafe to scan it all. That's all mine done now. The questionnaire is still messed up. I've completed everything on SASSIE, but it's showing 170 fields empty? Eeeeek.

Anyway, good luck to all those that still have their visits to do and questionnaires to complete. I would rather have done a massive visit for AA and be paid 25p for doing it rather than all this kerfuffle!

I've got all this to look forward to - did my visits yesterday (still no ditaphone so I'll have to record one of my visits next week). My printer started playing up when I needed it most, so I had to go via the library and print 22 pages at 25p a sheet :eek::eek: Now have papercuts galore and a backlog of reporting to do. I will also thank Big Graeme, NIM and Whitelabel (and you too mimi) as I'll be following those instructions next week! You're right mimi, what a kerfuffle!!!

I was wearing a suit so was hoping that I'd look like a businessman away for meetings! I know I shouldn't have got that 'I'm a mystery shopper' facial tattoo.

The VAT receipt line is a good one. And the bundle of receipts is a good idea - or maybe put them inside the pages of a diary.

I don't know if it's the done thing here but I'd be happy to print for people who suffer printer problems.

With regards to receipts PAY BY CARD and ask for your card receipt for the books. Or I always say "Can I get my card receipt please" this is very normal a lot of people balance their books!

They tend to hand you both receipts.

Just ask for your receipt and don't worry about it. They might suspect you're a MS'er and do a song and dance for you, but so what.

If anyone needs a dictophone I've got one here you can have. Got sent two for some reason. Just PM me.
