Who took the urgent quick supermarkets for TNS? I've been trying to negotiate mileage for some of them but to no avail. Out of interest, has anyone ever got really chunky fees for urgent tns supermarkets?0

Not I and Yes.
Got the fee doubled plus mileage for one. But it took a good bit of work. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -

What kind of mileage did you get? How many miles have you travelled for them?
And also, when negotiating mileage with companies, what do people usually base their requests around? I know it is different for everyone, but for example, I've been basing it around the 50p per mile figure, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less. What are peoples thoughts?0 -

I did some big mileage for them prior to finding this thread although I think it was thread 19 / 20, wouldnt do it now without getting time and mileage covered. They pay 22 per mile I think. I won't do long distance for them anymore because of it, 50 is what I aim for as thats roughly what it costs me. Probs a bit more if I was to properly account travel time but hey. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -

Obv depends what car you drive, but I don't think I spend anywhere near 50p per mile. I recon on a long journey, I probably spend between 10-20p. I think about 50-60p is fair for urgent jobs, as lets face it, we're in it to make money too.0 -

I live just north of t'moors and the wife does a lot of site visits etc out there and out the back end of east cleveland so we have a 4*4 which is pretty thirsty. Its good for a 4*4 a bit shy of 40mpg but its still not great. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
I did some supermarkets at the weekend for 40p per mile.0

I offered to do two remoter TNS supermarkets for 28p per mile. Got quite an abrupt email back telling me no thanks, they only pay 22p.
That was about two weeks ago. The visits are still there. May re-offer next week but it will be at 29p as my local station has increased prices again. TNS mileages are years out of date and they dont seem to allow for petrol being dearer in certain places. Which is usually the same places they cant cover to start with.0 -
