A nice alternative to garlic bread is to soak slices in olive oil and chilli mixed and make spicy crostinis.

Just drooled at the thought 0_0... if only I could get some baguette shops!

Fair play to TNS, very helpful email from them re cancelled snowed off visits.:)

I don't have space for a chest freezer unfortunately NIM and there is only so much bread I can eat in a day!

Don't you find it goes a bit stale the next day though? I guess it's not so bad with soup, in fact I did have part of the baguette with soup on Saturday. Fresh it is delicious to eat.

Without getting too Old Style here, it makes a cracking bread and butter pudding.

Even more disappointed now that I didn't pick up any baguette shops, really wanting some home made garlic bread now. Cheesy garlic bread. Mmmm!

I love how these threads used to be full of egg recipes, and now we can all of a sudden come up with '101 uses for a baguette'. Might end up popping to the one at the end of my road and buying a baguette tomorrow anyway, just because I'm jealous!
They'd be watching me out the window though waiting for me to come back in and complain that it's too crumby or something, and ask what else I could have for tea!! :D
I know you don't have to do that any more, but the staff must be so used to it by now! I went in to my local on at the weekend to buy milk, and got some reduced meat at the same time, spent around the reimbursement amount, didn't have loyalty card on me, got out to the car and remembered I also needed some potatoes, and when I went back in the guy asked 'Was everything ok with my milk?'!! Had to try very hard not to laugh, thinking of the times my milk was mysteriously leaking!!

  • What are the limits for the baguette shops? I did one last week and tried to book one today but it said my profile didn't meet the criteria? I did a Post Office shop at the same store 4 months ago - would that have stopped me getting it this time?
