The station visits are about equal to an RE underground sandwich shop when you take into account the reimbursement. Yes, not great, but with RE sandwich you can only do one at a time, you can do 5 at once of the RA LS stations and 3 of the SS stations.

A lot of the big city stations near me weren't taken so I emailed them and they manually added some extras.

I did 8 in one evening last night, which took less than 45 minutes in total to do the actual visit, with only one set of travel expenses.

My gosh the reports took forever though. Minimum character limits - the 150/200 were ok, but the 'describe your experience in detail' summary was 1000 characters minimum!!! I confess as I had already summarised my comments for the exterior, interior, service, queuing and seating earlier on that I copied and pasted all of these for my overall to save time. Must have taken me 10-15 minutes per report, and I do a quick report.

I think the Yes/No answers should have been all that was required, and an overall comment of minimum 200 characters, otherwise a bigger fee. It's strange though, the pharmacy visits had a better fee (I think? Or equal) and the reports were much, much shorter/quicker. Maybe 5 minutes a pop.

If I ever get desperate enough to take any of these or the clothes visits for this company will someone please have me taken outside and shot.

It’s a principle thing with me I am afraid; I walked through the station the other day and passed the places I had seen on RA. No way was I going to spend any amount of time valuable time working for the pittance they offered.

The real problem is that as long as people keep taking them there is no way on god’s earth they will change the fee! You are not doing yourself or anyone else any favours by doing the visits IMHO

What are MS companies like for rearranging jobs due to snow? I only started about a year ago after the snow had happened :)

Am supposed to be doing an ABAi job by the end of today and won't be able to do it. Tomorrow would be better anyway - have emailed them to see if it can be changed. Or is it possible to cancel an ABAi job and then immediately pick it up again, or does it disappear from jobs you can do?

I think you will find ABA-i will be very good about it, other companies I am not so sure!

I had a few jobs planned for today but not going out in this weather, No snow around here but everything is frozen including the roads.

Abai sent an email out for a project I'm on saying don't take risks to get jobs done over the weekend if the weather is bad. I'm sure they will understand.

Had a light covering of snow here, but it's thick of ice. Got a couple of jobs to do, assuming I can get out of our street as it's on a slope. Have been stuck at the top before and had neighbours push me out :o
Here I go again on my own....

The snow is quite bad my way so just cancelled the jobs I had and sent an email to the MSC concerned explaining why and apologising.

I don't think any of us like cancelling visits but with snow lying thick on the ground and the gov't issuing severe weather warnings it's inevitable.

Hello, I would like to start MSing but I don't have a printer. A friend works for RE occasionally without a printer, makes notes before the visit and then completes the questionnaire online, but I wondered if there were any other companies where you could do this, or whether someone could tell me which companies would definitely require a printer so that I can steer clear. Thankyou.

Further to my question yesterday (and thanks for the responses), could someone let me know whether it is possible to MS for Gapbusters, GFK, or Retail Active, without having access to a printer. I don't want to accept a job and then find that I cannot complete it.
Also, are there particular companies that are recommended? I have read the thread and they all seem to have their good and bad points. I just wondered what experienced MS'ers think.
Finally, I'm based in Wales. Is there any particular company that has more jobs in Wales? I only ask as there seem to be some Scottish-based firms mentioned int he thread.

    Many thanks.

    Yep you're a wuss :p

Plenty of layers on and you'll be fine! I live in a rural village and I've got two collies, so I'm out walking across fields and woods every day in all weathers. It's good when the ground is frozen as I don't have to wash mud off them when we get home :D

You need to print off the assignment paperwork for GFK.

As long as you click on 'print' with gfk that does the job. They don't know if you have actually printed it or not.
