windows would not have a warning saying it was infected, this was probably a infected website pop up cleverly designed to look like a windows warning, however when you click on it, it actually tries to install virus's itself by killing any av software you have and then insatlling its own virus's etc- hence possible curruption to avast.

do you have malwarebytes anti-malware - if so this would be my first port of call and do a full scan expect to take about 2 hours

otherwise i expect probably best bet is a uninstal/reinstal of avast would be easiest option of getting that back
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

hi there and thanks for being so quick to help ..OMG it did just pop up from nowhere

going to uninstall/reinstall my avast will this get rid of anything infected automatically or do l have to do anything after its reinstalled?

also can l ask, when lve logged off using my laptop l put it to sleep rather than shut down can that leave it vunerable?

Lets have a look at whats running round in there.

Download DDS from the link below and save it to your desktop:

    Link

After you've downloaded it and saved it to your desktop,
    • Double click DDS to run it.
    • When it's finished, DDS will open two logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt
Save both reports to your desktop.

Copy & paste the contents of just DDS.txt for now and post it here (you may need to split the log over separate posts)

you will also need to run FULL scans once installed - i would also download and instal malwarebytes anit-malware and run a full scan with this as well just to try and make you have caught anything that might have slipped passed

as to sleep mode - no your computer is not vunerable in that state - although just make sure you have all your windows updates installed (some do require the computer to be fully rebooted to install properly) by running the windows update option

Yes, don't worry - it's safe. No publisher means the file isn't digitally signed.

Easiest thing to do with copy and paste is when the text file is open ,go to Edit at the top, then > Select all > edit > copy

Then simply right click an empty space in the reply box here and choose paste.

Let us know if you are still suffering any particular symptoms too that may mean you might still be infected at all.
