That's good - usually the default is bank funding - paypal like you to use bank funding because you can't do a chargeback! My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Thought I'd update all you kind peeps with the latest ...
Well after waiting the 10 days for the Ebay dispute process it was only then that I found out they wouldn't award me anything as although I paid £47.50, £35 of it was postage so ebay classed it as being under £15. I guess the money they do award would only be on the cost of the actual item! A warning to beware of buying things with high postage, I guess unless claim through paypal before the 45 days are up.
I contacted my credit card provider and even though I think they only need to do chargeback if item costs over £100 they have agreed to follow this up. They sent me a form just signing that the transaction wasn't authorised so I will see if anything comes of it...0 -
did you not suspect 6 to 8 weeks was a bit too long for any delivery?
If you didn't originally, check as many of the sellers previous transactions as posible, I mean actually click on the recent item numbers don't ever rely on '100% positive feedback' as this doesn't really mean a lot if they have bought 100 1p items!
Hope you sort it out but just check to see if you could have avoided this for future use...

Success!!
I emailed copies of all correspondence with seller / ebay / paypal to credit card company on Monday.
Today (Thursday) I received the following email from Paypal stating:
"We recently received notice from your credit card company that you
filed a chargeback stating that you did not receive merchandise you paid for.
Please review the details of the disputed transaction below and the
steps for what to do next."
This email then informed me that the steps I had to do next was to cancel the chargeback!! After reading it thoroughly I decided I didn't need to take any action as may be surprising to them, I a) hadn't made a mistake in registering it and b) had not subsequently received the item.
Dispite first being under the impression that I had to take steps with Paypal when I checked my credit card statement immediately I found that I have received the full amount back! Morgan Stanley you are wonderful!
Even though this is a small success I feel it makes a point that Paypal / Ebay should be doing more to prevent scammers which the credit card company supported. They never once doubted my claim or questioned any of the information that I sent to them.
The negative feedback against the seller is now 28 so I know it wasn't just a case of me being naive as I do check carefully for type of previous feedback / length of membership etc except now I know I have learnt I shouldn't have accepted the 6 to 8 weeks delivery time! With Ebay there has to be an element of trust and it's fair to say that not every ebayer can be trusted and the systems in place aren't always enough as I know several people who have been scammed (both sellers and buyers).
I just hope that if anyone is unfortunate enought to be scammed that they know there is a route they can take and ebayers should possibly consider using their credit card to pay Paypal when they are buying more expensive items for extra security.0 -
I'm really glad to hear that you received your money back.
