Three - cant upgrade/change number
I have bad creidt so got a 12 month sim only contract at the shop.
Then i tried for 24 month contract over the phone cos you get a free phone i got it.
However im now being told i cant cancel my 12 month contract, and I have to cancel the 24 months contract.
It would make more sense for them and me to have a 24 month contract.
Also its takes 24hrs to put my old number on three, during that time my old number will disconnect but i cant do this because im unemployed and dont want to miss and job calls because my phone is unavalible.

You can't just take out one contract and then another and not expect to pay both of them
How long ago did you take the first contract out the Sim only one?
The only way round it is to pay the sim only one off
Then you could keep the 24mth contract and pay that one normal what you signed up for.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -

oh palna, the discussion time pet..
you cant cancel the in store contract as they have no 'cooling off' period.
so you are stuck with that one.
If you haven't used the phone / sim you got over the phone you can return
it and cancel the contract if you are within the 7 or 14 days cooling off
period, if you have use the phone you are stuck with both contracts.
Your mother will not be pleased palna.0 -
The other way is to cancel the new contract within the cooling off period. I hope this is what the OP is going to do.
Bless he's little heart he's got it set on the new phone with which i would if i couldn't get credit
The mobile company should have not gave it in the first place if he's credit was so bad not saying the Sim-only
That's why i said pay the Sim-only contract off if he can
You are right grumbler he should cancel the 24mth contract save him a lot of hassle in the end or he's going to have to pay both.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
I will cancel the 24 month contract gutted i wont get a new phone even though three told me on the phone i could cancel the 12 month one.
I am going to go in the shop and ask for a upgrade, why dont they upgrade, if they do they get a customer for longer and make more money.
also is there anyway i can transfer my number qulikley, as if it gets discounted for 24 hours dont wont to miss any owrk calls. they dont do it on the weekend.0 -
Why would they waste money on upgrading if you are tied in your contract for about a year anyway?
The cheapest PAYG phone is just £50 at '3'.
Porting number normally is much faster than 24 hours, but problems do happen.0 -
how can they upgrade you-and to what? What goes around-comes around0
