Gym -How long before I notice the effects??

Joined the gym on 28 December (before the mad new year dash!)

How long before you usually start noticing results? I'm eating better, I'm not drinking too much and I am using different machines/weights in the gym. I know I am probably being impatient, but I'm p00ped from getting up at 5.15 am every morning to go before work and I want some results NOW!!!!!!

Someone said 6 weeks, I might have collapsed with exhaustion by then!

I've lost about half a stone, but its all coming off the same bit, which isnt where I'm exercising!!

I need to lose another 2 stone before 6 May, in fact before then to make sure I can get into my dress.

I just feel so deflated, I know I'm expecting too much too soon, but it doesnt stop me wanting!!

TBH i dont go to the gym but do zumba and sit ups at home.when you say eating healthy what are u eating? before xmas i thought i was eating healthy I.E fish, now ive started using an app on my phone and in 10days ive lost 5.5lb when i went shopping i was going to buy some fish until i looked at it and each fillet is 330cals,it was smoked cooked mackeral each packet is 3 small fillets so u would normally have them all,its no wonder i wasnt loosing weight.u may find u loose it quicker if u use a calorie counter and exercise.im allowed 1200 cals a day,i brisk walk/jog some evenings aswell as 4 days of zumba and sit ups at home.i honestly recomend calorie counter u sometimes think u are eating healthy when infact u are having a ridiculous amount of calories, working out and not getting fast results

Is that a free app? Is it an iphone or smart phone one? I will check it out.

Im using a HTC but i know the App is available on blackberry/iphone aswell.its called myfitnesspal and yes its free.i swear by it and was recomended to me by someone who lost a stone using it.if u can use that for your cals then use the gym u should see a difference.u put in your current weight and then your ideal weight it calculates it and tells u how many cals a day u can have.u can also scan food items and it will tell u how many cals per portion there is.u will also need to put in the exercise u do as it will let u know how many cals u are burning

Not sure they do that at my gym. M My waist is the first place the weight/inches go from! I need to lose if from my legs more than anything, but also my back

When you lose weight, your body takes it from all areas at once, so you can't 'target' an area to shed weight. Don't let it dishearten you though!

As your body starts to burn off fat and build muscle, you may not notice your weight change quickly, as muscle is heavier by volume than fat. So don't focus so much on weight, but more so on measurements. (Measure top of arms, top of legs, waist, etc ... and watch the inches come off instead.)

Try and make sure that all the exercises you're doing are designed to tone (not build muscle) and with a healthy diet you'll soon see the difference!

    Don't give up! :T

What I have started doing is:

20 minutes fast walking (i cant run due to a back problem) at 1% incline on the treadmill
10 mins on the cross trainer
some of the weight machines- i do 3 reps of 15 at 30 kgs on each one
20 minutes back on the treadmill
10 lengths of the swimming pool (this is dependant on the time)

I know its not a lot at the moment, but I was really unfit before I started. I have noticed that I can do longer on the cross trainer before I HAVE to get off cus my legs wont go any longer! And I'm walking faster on the treadmill.

I should've saved and paid for lipsuction!! lol

I know that as my body gets used to all this abuse, I will be able to do longer and harder.
