family car with large boot

Hi,

We have a Ford Focus of approx 6 years old with a boot that is barely big enough !

We intend to change our car soon and need a good boot/storage space and good reliability.. ours is classed as a small family car but we would look at a larger car that was economical..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Vectra, it's got a debt collectors boot..... You'll struggle to fill it :p

And then with the seats down, you've got 6ft of space, enough for me to transport 2 full length mirrors, a bathroom cabinet, 2 chairs and various odds and sods from my last trip to Ikea.

The Signum (Vectra with a traditional hatchback) is a little bigger, the Vectra Estate is bigger still.

Skoda Octavia, or if it is only boot space you want rather than a much larger car a Focus Estate.

Personally I would look at estates, mundanos, vectras, avensis, accord, passat, A4 all big boots. All have good and bad points.

Citroen Berlingo - massive amount of space in the back, especially with the seats down

We have a focus on 02 plate. Am happy with the boot size, although the newer shape focus hatchback door is not as wide, which is critical when it comes to buggies. We are looking for a new car later in the Year and bootsize is essential.

Upto now we have considered the Vectra for its boot. However when I had the Mondeo the boot was massive but still the newer shape has a narrower boot entrance which could prove problematic for us.
