tk max is good. my daughter still has her prom dress from last year as do her friends. i know our yr11s wouldn't want to go in a dress worn last year and already featured in photos round the school

Plenty of options now to go on. Have had a quick look at TK, Debenhams and AllforDress and i'm sure we'll find something that can please us both (her for the dress and me for the money !! )

Originally we had kinda earmarked this one, but I think we can maybe do better

For my daughter's Year 11 Prom we went to a local hire shop to have a look. However she was having a sale and we got a £600 dress for £69. It was last years season, black and covered in crystals. It might be worth seeing if a local hire shop has a sale.
Don't forget you will also need shoes, bag, hair, nails, and some even go for fake tan!

I agree with the comments about boys. 1 tuxedo in Suits for You closing down sale and a fancy waistcoat off ebay. Tie from tie rack, and a Primark black trilby to which I added a ribbon of material and put a fake hankie in the pocket of the tuxedo. I cheap pair of black shoes- all in £65.

Re transport- I went to a car rally which had representatives from clubs, and spoke to a man with a Goldwing Motor Bike and side car. He was happy to transport my son and a friend for a donation to his charity. They arrive with flags, lights etc and beat all the limo's hands down. Cost £10 each
  • My daughter and her best friend went in a bright red Mustang owned by a friend (cost 4 cans of beer!) - impressed the lads if nothing else and the owner was pleased by all the unadulterated attention his car got !!!
We bought shoes and a bag in a colour that could be used again - in the sales. Our hairdresser did her hair , but maybe if you approached a hairdresser which takes on trainees - or even a local tec , they would welcome the chance to use her as a model ?

We purchased one from China (Ebay) for my Daughters prom 3 years ago and it was absolutely stunning....we had to send every measurement possible lol.
If you find one over here and send a picture they will copy/make simular.
I think with postage we paid just under £100 and it was fantastic value.
    Have lots more ‘Pending’
    But total money I’ve received from Cashback Sites by performing 'Daily Clicks' is ;
    APRIL 2007 - JAN 2008 = £2,800:money:

  • We got my daughters a couple of years ago in Monsoon when they had their 70% off sale it was gorgeous from the bridal section but didn't look like a wedding dress, well worth a look if you have one near by as I think it was this time of year when we got it.
  • John Lewis have a few nice dresses. Good old BHS have some bridesmaid dresses that are quite pretty :

  • It really depends on you daughter's fashion sense.

Is she a label queen or does she have her own distinctive style.

My daughter's prom dress was sourced from a vintage clothing shop in Edinburgh. Cream silk, empire line, hand stitched wedding dress. It was stunning.

Here is a good source: Oxfam Bridal

    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

T K Max is where we got our daughters from, the dress was stunning and we got it at an absolutely bargain price.

She was very lucky to drop on just the right dress and size for her off the peg. I think it's best to pop in the store often once they start having the prom dresses in.

The dress she had was very good quality and we would have paid a few hundred pounds for it at other speciality prom shops.

If you can find some thing here you will save yourself a fortune.

She was also chosen as prom queen on her prom night, she looked just lovely.

ive bought two dresses from Ebay before ( they came from China) and they were fantastic value for money. and perfect as you get to (usualy) choose colours and detailing. i reccomend it to everyone, and my friend recently also got her 7 bridesmaid dresses from a similar far east ebay shop and the dresses were beautiful. look for feedback for the ebay seller and im sure it will be fine.
I can only please one person a day.... Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either!!
very greatful for almost everything i read on MSE (except for the nasties!)
