The Great 'Re-use from the house into the garden' Hunt

Get a plastic pop bottle. Cut the top off about an inch before it starts to narrow. Remove the lid. Invert the top, slotting it inside the base of the bottle, it will be a tight fit. Staple around the perimeter of the cut edge. Pour beer or pop into the bottle and lay it on the ground, possible partly digging the base into the soilk so that the whole thing slopes a bit. The rim must be flat to the soil, then, hopefully the little critters will be so tempted by the sugary drink, they will glide in and through the narrow top, dive into the juice and meet a timely death!!! And if you can't follow that, I don't blame you!!!!Keep on trucking!0

This is a question, not an idea. I have got a bag full of corks to put on the tops of garden stakes. Has any one any good advice on what is the best way to make the hole in the cork?Keep on trucking!0

Rather than spend £15 getting rid of this freezer, is there anything I can use it for in the allotment, other than storing things in, does anyone have any experience of using one as, maybe a planter for carrots? Is it safe to have one around due to the gas thingy on the back of them? would it be best for me just to get rid of it?
PS. sorry to dominate the forum today, I look every day for new ideas and they seem to be getting thin on the ground ( good pun for a gardening thread, eh??) Come one, everyone, get some new ideas sent in, I love 'em!!!Keep on trucking!0 -

Bob Flowerdew on GQT recently said he made compost in an old fridge as it kept it very warm.
Hole in a cork? Er... tap (i.e. hammer gently) a small nail into it, then remove nail?0 -
Just remember to break the catch/lock on the old fridge/freezer as a child could become trappedLove living in a village in the country side0

Hi Plum Pie, I meant a thick hole to get the bamboo stakes to slot into, thin holes are easy just the thick ones I am stuck with! But thanks anyway.Keep on trucking!0
