Cancelling Virgin Cable

Hi all
I am currently receiving Cable Broadband from Virgin, but I am moving to an area without fibre optics so I can't transfer my cable service. Unfortunately I can't have their standard ADSL broadband either as the new landlord has a security system that is hooked up to the phone line and they have a contract with BT for it.
So my question is; as Virgin are not able to provide me with the service that I signed up for at the new address am I able to cancel without paying an early termination fee (I think I would have to pay for 3 months!)?
I do not want to cancel as its the best BB I've ever used (ridiculously fast) but I have no option. When I signed up I was told they had installed fibre optics across the area (only moving half a mile up the same street!) so I was surprised to find out it isn't available where I am moving to
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

This comes up regularly, same answer every time. No, you'll be liable for the full ETC as specified in your contract. I believe it is normally set out at £10 per each service (i.e. phone and broadband) per remaining month? If you have TV, the full amount remaining on the contract will apply.
You contracted to VM at your current address, they do not guarantee service to every address in the UK, and it's not their fault that you can't switch to VM National at the new address.
VM only serve about 40% of UK homes IIRC, and have made no expansion of their network since they took it over from NTL/Telewest.
You could have a separate VN ADSL line at the new address? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Been there, done that (lived in the only estate in the town which wasn't cabled, and had to move again 7 months later so as to get broadband since the BT line was too long/too poor to support it)
In this case, however, the landlord's phone line would not seem to have much to do with this. You can have your own line installed. Believe VM charge £39 for that but do check.
If you don't do that, then you might want to check 3G availability in your new area. It's pants compared to cable, but can easily outperform ADSL in some areas (like here - 11Mbps versus 1.5Mbps) so as to be able to get some semblance of a continued broadband connection. However VM can then correctly hold you to pay off the balance of contract because it isn't their problem that you can't see out the original one.0
