Quote for plumbing/rewiring seems far too high

Certainly get more quotes. I may live in the Midlands, but if I recieved a quote for even half that amount, I would never entertain it. I used to work at a electrical/plumbing wholesaler.

I'm not sure why anybody thinks it isn't expensive! I wouldn't spend anywhere near that electrical price on a total, brand new wiring system in a 2500sqft house.

I could send you one of our electricians from the Midlands, save you a small fortune, purchase the fittings and pay for their hotel and food out of it as well?!

As for the plumbing, £4000 should buy you everything you wanted on your list and whilst perhaps they might come in with that kind of price in London, I'd still hope for some wriggle room.

I offered to pass on numbers of local trades I use but for some reason the post got removed. I assume it got reported a spam which I thought was a bit silly seeing as this is a MSE forum
