but to enter into the prize you had to agree to buy the book as i recall. altho now i think i've actually won the book. i have no idea. it's something i wanted anyways.
So far I've managed to avoid buying the book. Now that I'm more organised these days, I've actually got all of the relevant stickers, coupons, ticket numbers etc that I've collected over the year - all ready for the draw on the 26th of Feb. I am soooo not expecting to win, but I just thought I'd try and make it through to the end without buying or signing up for anything.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -

Today I've been billed for £14.90:eek: I've emailed them, as I tried to log myself on to their site with the customer number that they gave me but was unable to do so.

I had something similar happen once too and just emailed them saying I had been billed for something i hadn't ordered and didn't want. They apologised and gave me the address to return it.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

I had a rather nice email from them today apologizing and saying that I didn't owe them anything, in fact they said that should I get any more (oh I do hope so) books that I can keep them as a gesture of good will0

fruitloops..check out https://www.saynoto0870.com to get rd contacts
they too send me loads of crap stating 'guaranteed winner'..i cant even throw them off in bin as they have my personal details printed all over the letter..0 -
i was sent something before xmas (i'm 23 so dont fall into the old an vunerable catagory) and i simply tore off the letter they had stuck to the from, added a note saying 'return to sender - wrong address' and sent it back.
then about a month later i got another book sent (note that i have never even heard of them until the books) and this one came with invoices of the red letter nature (ahem!)
so i emailed (refusing to call the 0870 nos) them saying they had the wrong person, no one took any subscription with them from this address, and if they want the book they can come an get it as i would not be inconvienienced an pay for their mistake. i then got a reply and they seemed apologetic and said they would arrange for someone to come and collect it.
that was back in march sometime and its still sitting at home...hmmm0 -
I had a bad experience with them and threatened to invoice them for my time in emailing them, they sent a reply saying I owe nothing
Be firm with them, the goods are unsolicited, therefore you don't have to pay for them, and you don't pay for their return either.Blackadder: Baldrick, I have a very, very, very cunning plan.
Baldrick: Is it as cunning as a fox what used to be Professor of Cunning at Oxford University but has moved on and is now working for the U.N. at the High Commission of International Cunning Planning?
Blackadder: Yes it is.
Baldrick: Hmm... that's cunning.0 -
