I wish Shawbrook had told us before we made the application that there would be at least 12 days delay as I have funds waiting to be transferred earning no interest at the moment. My application was made 3 January and apart from the email two days later telling me about 12 days delay I have not heard from them.

My original email was dated 5/1 and account opened on the 17/1

I applied on-line late last week and got an email telling me there was a delay in getting paperwork out - I still haven't recieved any correspondence. Is there a close date on the offer, because at this rate it is going to be another fortnight at least before Shawbrook get round to opening an account for me.

They will close the various bonds when they have raised enough funds. For example I believe the two year account is closed to new business but they will honour it if you have already applied online.

My welcome pack with new set up sort code and account number arrived today after a 2 week wait . At least Ive had the money in interest bearing accounts. I was going to FP it direct from those accounts, today, but then read that FP to them wouldnt be credited to the account till 3rd day, so it would be better to send a cheque 1st class as they say they pay interest from day cheque received. Huh, if only one could trust Royal Mail that the cheque would arrive on Monday!

Good luck with the first class post, sometimes it is worth a gamble. If your pack took 2 weeks to arrive hopefully my pack will arrive any day now!

That was quick turn around, hopefully you should be earning interest from at least 10 Jan.
  • Although it took about 3 weeks from online application (for 2 yr fix) to receiving my account details it has only take 3 days for Shawbrook to acknowledge the receipt of my deposit - so well done for that SB.
