Hi everyone and welcome to new peeps. Haven't been on fo a while as DMP going along fine. One question though. I know that CCCS/Payplan don't like you to offer f/f settlements to some creditors while on DMP but what happens if you decide to do this anyway against their advice. Can other creditors find out?
Have a good evening:beer:
We did two F&Fs to creditors before christmas with CCCS' knowledge and blessing. Other people have been too.
Our two were really small compared to a lot of the others, so because we only had that small amount it made sense to pay two off. CCCS basically just allowed me to get on with it and I updated them when done.
There's a thread somewhere - help with F&Fs - I wrote down the process in there.

Over the weekend I emptied out a cupboard and got rid of several years worth of old statements, car insurance policies etc. I've just gone through my inbox and unsubscribed from all of the junk emails I receive every day, I've started writing down what I eat so I can join the weight loss challenge, I've set up a new filing system for the post I'm about the receive, I just feel the need to clean, tidy and organise!!!! Bizarre.
I have found when on a DMP you realise how down you were and stuck in a rut when in debt. I call it the Dark Ages! I think everything builds up, and you do get a release when you get your lbm. I've had a second one as I've put my flat up for sale and have gone on a bit of a decluttering blitz! I think it also helps that spring is round the corner.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

You are so absolutely right there. In addition to facing up to the difficulties we were in, I had hidden a lot of it from my husband (stupid but didn't want him to worry) so was faced with telling him as well. The relief of not having to hide anything and actually being able to talk to him about it, along with the mahoosive relief of talking to the CCCS and then the help and support on here - it has completely changed me. I am so much happier! Another bizarre thing given that I'm still in the same amount of debt I was a month ago.
Hope you get lots of viewings and sell your flat quickly.

Hi all!
Well I've had a letter today confirming myfirst payment will be taken on 1st April. Having a few issues with the dh at the mo - I'm trying to budget and save whatever money we can and he's just spending it on rubbish. I've told him he can't just do that - every penny needs to be accounted for now and he just says "i know" it makes me so annoyed when I'm trying so hard.
Sorry it's short and sweet, I work nights and am currently very sleep deprived!0 -
We have just received a letter from Lloyds saying they will accept our reduced payments on our loan as a concession for 6 months. After that time they expect us to go back to full payments and pay off any arrears (where do they think we will pull the money from to do that? Thin air?) I take it these letters are standard practice and I should just ignore it ? They say they will keep sending letters of arrears and that we will end up paying more interest because interest is charged on the outstanding balance and that will be higher because of reduced payments.
Oh well, onwards and upwards.0 -

Ours starts then too. I had similar problems but keep telling him, it will sink in eventually. x0 -
Hello All (hope I'm in the right place)
I have just come from the CCCS Website after finally getting my head out of the oven and attempting to find a solution.
I have around 26k of unsecured debt across credit cards, store card and loans.
I currently make minimum payments on all cards and full payments on loans but things are beginning to get tight.
Sine the birth of my daughter in 2010 my husband has lost his job so I am the sole wage earner and we are about to lose our Tax Credits as my earnings (27k before tax) are just above the new limit propsed in the budget.
CCCS have advised a DMP which would get me debt free in around 4 years.
I am slighly optimistic but am acutely aware these days that if something seems to good to be true it probably is so would be grateful for some advice/shared experiences.
Do relationships with creditors turn sour when using the CCCS? Will I be hassled directly by them? I have a small loan with my current bank so am assuming I will have to move accounts before the DMP is set up?
Am I being naive to be feeling I may have found a positive solution?:(
