hmmmm well I thought things were quiet and going too well!
OH received a letter from Metropolitan who took over his HSBC credit card sometime ago. Anyway, since December, we have been self managing our dmp and having been paying exactly the same amount as the CCCS.
OH got a letter just now stating the following:-
We are disappointed to note that we have been unable to come to an arrangement to clear the outstanding balance on your account (what a load of rubbish!!!! have sent numerous letters:mad:)
They then demand full repayment and then state:- If you do not contact us we intend to instruct solicitors to issue legal proceedings and apply for a charging order against your property:eek:
Should we be worried??? or is this another standard issue letter???
OH is absolutely furious, and has just written a rather snotty letter to metropolitan stating when they got paid over the last 3 months, dates, amounts everything! and has asked that the repayments stay the same as they were with the CCCS.
I am really upset by this, should I be worried?
thanksLBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -

Hi JC,
I received a couple of these from our DCA's, with the same wording, but nothing came of it. I believe its just another tactic, standard issue letter just to put the wind up you little. I personally would continue to make the payments as you have been doing and sit tight and wait for their response to your OH's letter. I doubt there is anything to worry about.LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I've been off-line for a couple of weeks so am just catching up. We decided that £40 for Virgin broadband and telephone was too much - plus every cheap broadband deal wants a bt line - so we decided to move to bt. Then with lots of messing round with bt we have been without broadband since 13th Feb - certainly saving money there then :rotfl:. We're using our next door neighbours broadband (with their permission
) but my computer won't usually link though DHs does.
Hope everyone is doing okay and it's nice to be back - even if only a one off until the 1st March. :grouphug: to everyone who needs one.Clutter free wannabee 2021 /52 bags to cs. /2021 'stuff' out of the placeYOU CANNOT BE ALL THE GOOD THAT THE WORLD NEEDS, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN BEtaken from Shelbizleee on YouTube - her copyright0 -

I've got to be honest but if any of my creditors played that trick with that level of interest added, they would only get a token payment off me. This is a totally unfair practice whilst in a DMP and goes against OFT guidance I think or is it the Lending Code?. Get a complaint in, in bed red letters, outrageous!!!!!!!0 -

Hi ST, sorry to hear about your situation. I think you have done the right thing, my friend had to do the same. Her son stole from her to feed his cannabis habit and pay off debts, mostly to his nasty friends. He took her jewellery some that she had inherited from her grandmother. It wasn't worth a lot but had lots of sentimental value and can never be replaced. He also sold her DVD collection. Sometimes you have to say enough is enough.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Oh no thats not good news. Really sorry to hear that HH. I take it you are going into battle with them. Are they allowed to do that just because you have now reached the minimum payment ? If so thats just crazy.LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Having a mini panic tonight.
Set up new bank account, but no direct debits have come out yet!
Transfer date from old account was supposed to be 23rd. However hsbc messed up and cancelled all direct debits when natwest told them I was switching.
Anyway, car insurance was due on 18th, should have come out of old account but obviously didnt. I rang ins company up and explained and they said its ok they have received new direct debit instructions and it normally takes 10 days for them to transfer details and they will try to take money on 28th.
Sky was also due on 28th.
Nothing has come out and now Im worried that really important things like the mortgage which is due on 1st wont come out either. I really dont want to be getting into trouble with them.
Then again, I dont want to be getting into trouble for driving without valid insurance either!! arrggh!!
Sorry for the long story.....will phone the bank tomorrow to see if they can help.0 -
