I know the feeling carly !
When I started my DMP my payments went from £600/mth to £236/mth - which made a significant positive improvement to my quality of life !.0 -
Great news carlyfluck, the first steps are the hardest, you are on your way now.
We are going from £2400/month now to £928/month from December onwards so things look brighter in our house too :j
We won't be rich, but we should keep ourselves afloat and start to bring the balances down from now on. That is progress in itself.
And as a bonus Lloyds CCs and Santander confirmed that they have frozen interest. I don't know the full details yet but this seems to be positive progress.LBM 25/10/12

Our only problem is that we have no emergency fund to start off with, and right on cue my car has just decided it needs a service. This one is a big one that I estimate around £600. I think that's going to have to wait until after Christmas.LBM 25/10/12

hi all i paid out my first DMP payment on the 1st of this month. Last month token payments has given a small emergency fund but also reduced payments and changing my shopping to aldi has meant we could buy the kids presents ( using vouchers too) so not got the stress of near end dec no money as last year the majority went on cc as we didnt have enough money to see us through. as a whole we are in a much better place. Keeping an eye on the spending is also looking after the pennies. good luck to you all your all sounding so much more relieved i know that feeling too.LBM Sept 2012

Hi all,
Well done everyone! We were actually better off on a DMP than we had been for some time previously, our payments dropped from something like £900 a month to £198 but, also, we were finally forced to work to a proper budget. Strangely we quite enjoyed that feeling and it made us feel <finally> in control.
Onwards and upwards y'all.

Im having problems with Ll*yds too - Ive been on my DMP for over six months for a loan, CC and OD and they have now said they can give me another six months then default the OD, or go straight to default. They said if we put it off for six months, they can then start charging interest again. problem is my CC is (apparently) already going to default (although they havent actually told me this before) so whats the point in not defaulting them all??
I keep thinking this is all sorted and we can get on with our lives, but they keep dragging it back up again and again, and its really getting me down!Sealed Pot no 20110
