Hi Jon,
Should be fine. We were in the same position with Halifax, I asked CCCS back then, and they advised son's money would be fine. We jumped ship owing Halifax an awful lot and they've never gone near son's account.

Thanks HH. I would not have got this far without this forum.
After the shock of how bad the problem was, the tears and feeling of failure and panic, I am now looking forward to the first payment. I was offered a January start date but thought starting one month sooner means I'll be finished one month earlier. The feeling of relief, even though I know the first few months are going to be hard work, is immense.
Token payment letters are going out this week, except for my bank account (on hold until wages land in new account).

Hey Enough Now,
Many of us have been exactly where you are now - I remember that transition period and just the feeling of relief that we had started dealing with the issues. I did a short blog at the request of CCCS, look up the info in my signature to find it if you like.

Your article was one of the pieces that inspired me to take this massive step. I know I am to blame for the debts I incurred but I refuse to be in debt for the rest of my life. I've paid the creditors enough interest already!
Hopefully any debt related tears in the future will be happy ones, when I can see the balances reducing.
I look forward to keeping the forum updated and maybe helping others who are on the same journey.LBM October 2012

It's all a real emotional roller coaster at first, I would be in floods of tears one moment and elated that we were doing something the next, the crying again in case it wasn't the right things to do a few minutes later. Nine months down the line, I know it was definitely the correct thing to do.

I'm having a strange day today.
I contacted Lloyds Card Services and they told me not to worry about the Default notices - standard process. But they had set up the wrong DMP payment due date of 1st December when StepChange will actually pay them on 25th. This was changed which avoided any issue with them claiming the first payment arrived late.
Based on this, StepChange advised me to check all the other creditors, except Lloyds TSB Bank who rejected the DMP because I am below the OD limit so they see no problem. I now need to wait for the final DDs to switch to my safe account on 22nd Nov then I can request they withdraw the OD and close the account (hopefully).
So I called all the other debts - 2 Lloyds loans are setup and fine but need token payments on 1st December - no problem with that.
Asda (Santander) CC were absolutely fine and told me not to worry, I had done the right thing contacting StepChange and they would wait until end of December for the next payment. I was so relieved I almost burst into tears.
Creation (Flybe Mastercard) told me that they haven't heard from StepChange - called StepChange back who told me not to worry and Creation communicate in a slower way. Try again in a few weeks.
So generally I can feel the weight starting to lift from my shoulders - one step at a time.LBM 25/10/12
