Ummm not very long, they are faster than rabbits :rotfl:

We took most of them to the petshop and swapped them for another cage, gerbil food and bedding. Then we had 2 lots of gerbils, male and female cages who were kept apart :D

Oooh what a good trade - very MSE :money:

    Hi everyone

Wonder if anyone could offer me some advice please I am on a DMP with CCCS and they have been great - just rang the CCCS today about getting my mum on a DMP plan too she was accepted today on the phone so that was a relief howver when we went through the budget on the phone we have missed some things out of the budget as they said mum could afford about 200 per month but before I rang we had gne through everything and we worked out mum had about £100 spare at the end of the month - so when I got off the phone we went through everything with a fine toothcomb and found that we had forgotten to add things into the budget and this added up to about 90 pound a month - does anyone know how we go about sorting this out as no way does mum have 200 spare a month as if we did we could pay the credit card bill etc - The CCCS lady did say on the phone that she would send the expenditure sheet out for us to check but does anyone know if this is ok to ring them back and tell them once we have gone through this form what we have missed off it - She did say that even if we could only afford 100 it would still be ok to do a DMP it would just take longer than her paying the 200 - Please any advice would be appreciated as I wont sleep like my mum with the worry tonight x HELP Panic coming on

Phone them tomorrow with the amendments and they'll sort it. Tell your mum to try not to lose sleep it will all be sorted. We changed ours a couple of times before the first payment went out because we'd forgotten things. It can be a bit hard to think straight at first. It will be a couple of months before the first DMP payment goes out probably so plenty of breathing space to get things straight. Good luck!

Hi. First of all - DON'T PANIC!!!

CCCS are there to HELP you. They are not the enemy. Just give them a call tomorrow and explain. Your mums DMP is not finalised yet, she hasn't signed anything and it will take a while before it's all up and running. It is hard to remember everything at the beginning, especially over the phone and they will be used to people making alterations before the final plan. Get yourself a nice mug of cocoa and relax. Don't lose sleep over this, you are doing the right thing and have the best people to help you through it both on here and CCCS. Good luck.x
  • Hi Antonic

Thanks for sharing your story, I can't wait until we are in your position. You have obviously had to go through a lot as well as dealing with your finances. I can't wait to hear from you in January when you don't have to make a payment!! It will be an amazing feeling. I'm glad you have had your Dad for support, he's right to be proud of you.

    xx

    Hi All,

SorryI haven't been on for a couple of weeks but been very busy at work luckily!
Still going according to plan, our third payment goes to all the creditors in a couple of days - can't believe it! The only hiccups are NatWest with our business loan, they say they haven't had anything yet from the CCCS alothough our overdraft with them is sorted out - don't see how one dep't can get paperwork and the other can't, but I wonder if this is because its a small business loan - and one of the biggies £12k "Ouch"...
The other is HSBC who also say they still haven't had anything but have frozen interest for another 30 days.
CCCS are still being great, they are so helpful and always very calming. I can't thank them enough!
I have had a good read through all the posts - well done to everyone who started around the same time as me, we are all finding ways of making ends meet - love the slow cooker stories - as well as the gerbils, but best not get them mixed up eh? Not much meat on a Gerbil!
Well catch up time for Emmerdale and Corries street. Have a great wek everyone!!
    Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35
    Now £27,470.20 :T
    57% of debts cleared:beer:

    Hi win123 :hello:

It will really be ok, I am sure lots of people forget stuff the first time around and have to change things.

CCCS are very helpful and do understand these things and I bet you have it all sorted out tomorrow.

This forum is great for help, advice and support so please stick around :)

Some people on here will tell you to add a bit onto what your actual budget is to allow for some wiggle room i.e. a bit of emergency money. As long as you are within the CCCS recommended guidelines for payments then I'm sure they will be fine with you. We went over with our sky payment but when we explained that it was our only form of entertainment they were ok and split it between the 'satellite' and 'entertainment' budgets. Have you tried the online CCCS debt remedy? It might give you an idea of allowances and possible payments. CCCS want you to be able to live comfortably and will account for this first. Whatever is left over after that is what the creditors get. If you need to pay a bit less to the creditors so that you can lead a reasonable life then that's fine as long as you realise that the more you pay the quicker you will clear the debt. We decided to be cautious at first and at our annual review we will increase the payments a little if we can afford to. CCCS are on your side.

Thanks for the reply - my worry is that I have told them that mum pays 50 every month towards the 700 mortgage when actually she pays 100 £50 every 2 weeks not a month so this adds up to £100 hope they dont query this as this is what is worrying me they may say no they have to accept the first conversation we had of 50 pounds the other issues I have is water for example I pay 20 mum pays 20 but I got muddled and told them it was half of the 20 = 10 pound instead of 40 half is =£20 etc same with the car ins and other bits I have halved her half of payment instead of both ours because I was stresse lol- my fear is they will query all this but hey ho we are telling the truth as we want to pay back the debt asap not have it drag on for many years - just hope the CCCS will understand what errors I have made xx

Good Luck with your plan too

Just make sure you have the precise figures when you call. Check bank statements and bills. Dont forget some months are 5 weeks long and others 4 so work out your annual spend and divide it by12 months to get an accurate figure. It should be a little more than what you think you pay each month. CCCS will understand if you tell them you just quoted the figures off your head but have now checked the paperwork and have the right figures. Don't leave yourself short. It is better to increase your payments in the future if you find you have lots of money leftover at the end of the month than to reduce the payments because you can't manage and are paying too much.
